Hello All,
I'm thinking about [actually closer to "planning on"] buying a travel
trailer which I will tow with my 1994 Disco. My successful jaunt from CT to
Jacksonville FL over the past week sealed the deal... My family won't
fly and I was really jealous of all of the various RV's rolling up
and down the East Coast.
I'm doing my research, and have been to the RV show in Hartford CT
twice. I plan on buying at the next show in January since it seems
you can usually get good deals at the show.
What I am wondering is does anyone have any experience towing with an
older [3.9] Disco? I'd love to find out how big a trailer they went
with. I'm looking at about 28' and 7500 lbs GVWR [from what I've
learned that is the weight of a trailer with all of the fluids,
personal effects and such included]. Did it work out? Was it a recipe
for disaster? Generally, I don't plan on moving it around alot. I
would pick a "home" campsite in the greater CT, MA, PA, NY area, for
weekend getaways, but would want to go on one or two "big trips" each
year [culminating in the required dragging of the kids to Orlando to
pay homage to Mickey Mouse...]
All thoughts appreciated.
