That's the wrong oil, should be 0-20.
If you choose the unicorn blood oil then this is the Rover specification: Castrol EDGE Professional OE Synthetic SAE 0W-20
It's much easier to get now than during Covid.
FCP Euro and British Atlantic are reliable. Watch the kits, they tend to have aftermarket filters - I buy it as piece parts.
It's an easy DIY task, you will need an extraction tool and a cap tool for the filter.
Besides, you can never change the oil too much...

Agreed on the transmission.
Relatively straight forward task on the 8 speeds, a bit futzy getting it torqued and the 8 speed fluid really smells bad...

Crossovers, etc. as well.

The list is essentially endless - you have much to learn Grasshopper...

Are you a hands on person?

If so you will want the mechanics manual.
The last time I looked the manual for the V6 was not on-line, but you could try Craigs manuals as well as others, should be about $15 or so.

If you cannot find a manual and you want one, send me a PM with your email and I will give you access to my Google Drive.

I double checked the receipt- it is, indeed, 0W-20 (we used 5W-20 in a race car I use to run with some friends).

Depends on how much time I have. :) But yeah- in general.

I found a RoW service manual (says Disco 4 L319 instead of LR4 and MY 2013-2015 instead of 2014-2016 on cover but it does say SCV6) but I would imagine that should be mostly the same. Any major difference between RoW and the US version?

Change the battery as well.
I am in Houston, plenty hot here as well, 3 years max on a battery as they burn up in the heat.

If you read the actual battery specifications, they land right between the H7 and the H8, although all the US shops will be recommending the H7.
In my 3 LR4's I currently have 1 H7 and 2 H8.
Will be all H8 the next rotation.

We don't need the extra umph in warmer climates, just makes me feel better.
