I dunno, but see my post #37 above. From what I quickly found, it seem to be a 2011 or earlier issue. Someone in the link mentioned chain guides formerly made of plastic were updated to metal at some point.
I'm hoping that since I had one of the later LR4s with a V8 (August 2013) that mine has the upgrade, but who knows.
