There's something like 6 torx bolts to remove the rear seats and you can have them out within 20 minutes, nothing else required. They're heavy and awkward to remove, so you'd want two people ideally. No airbag connections to remove and I just zip tied the seatbelts out of the way. I have a full sized spare and the LR4 has basically the same winch mechanism as the LR3.
The plywood cover is about 1/2 thick and you can't really put that much weight on it unless you have stuff in the space underneath. On the five seaters the plywood sat on a polystyrene insert that held the jack, etc. so it was more supported. Road noise is slightly worse than it was before.
Here's all the part numbers for the conversion.
Front cover : EAS500015PVJ
Rear cover : LR015470 / EAS500023PVJ
Support plate right : EPE500144
Support plate left : EPE500154
Retainer plate : LR008296
Retainer plate : LR008297
