I've come to the conclusion that if you own an LR3 long enough, you'll eventually replace every part on the vehicle. I'm taking a stab at that theory right now. In the past month, i've had the following done (all under warranty except tires):

1) New Tires
2) New tie-rod arms
3) New Windshield (rock got me on Saturday)
4) New driver and passenger door panels (their fix for the speaker rattle)
5) New back hatch latch assembly
6) New steering wheel (common problem in 05s)
7) New drivers side mirror
8) New spare tire assembly
9) New Compressor (actually, that was two months ago).

Not ********, just think it's funny. The drivers compartment seems fairly new again thanks to the winshield, door panel, steering wheel replacement. It even drives better with the new tires.

I need a new steering wheel too

I tried to have mine replaced at the dealer last week, but they said it wasnt bad enough and the truck is now under the CPO warranty not the 4/50K warranty... oh well. I found a place you can buy them on ebay for around $175 bucks, and there's a dealer in Cali (Rocklin something or other) that will sell them for around 200 shipped. Problem is, I bet these new wheels will look just as crappy in 5 years.

It was under warranty. Actually, I think this was a defective part case. I'm not sure if they cover stuff like that out of warranty.

Im falling behind,
'05 w/70k miles, in the last year.
new tires, new brakes.
I could use a new windshield but its not necessary.
I had the vehicle inspected for anything else but everything else is GtG...

I've replaced most of those same items in my '05 as well.

Why the side mirror? First time I've heard that one.

That sounds about right. I done all the same, except door, ws, spare tire assembly and the mirror. Add brakes/rotor (normal wear)

This is fairly useless info without mileage and are we supposed to assume you have an 05 just because the steering wheel is a common issue for it? Step it up man.

05 HSE with 45,000 miles. I drive .5 miles to work, and walk most days. I'm getting good use out of the extended warranty.

The mirror assembly kind of disentegrated. It started with blue foam peeking out the side and then got steadily worse (rattling). I'm really not sure what happened there, but they replaced it. I don't know if I knocked it somewhere or whether it was just defective.

Funny thing: When the took the windshield off, I got to see the A-Pillar fix they made to stop the leaking into the car (I assume it was the fix). It was a couple of pieces of duct tape over the bottom and top holes. There are two fairly useless holes there. I assume that was the cause. The magic of duct tape. The window installer actually asked me what they were for.
