I'm running a 2011. Mine is so bad that the protective paint on the hub portion of the rotor peeled off early. I'll replace it after I figure out the problem.
I shook the wheels and got no wobble, and I got the vibrations even without braking at highway speeds. I've tried parking without setting the EPB everytime and have not gotten the vibration again, fingers are crossed that it's just some anomaly that won't happen again.
That's a valid thought, maybe I could ru nout and just grab a cheap tablet and put a tough case around it.
I was hoping to be able to do that but can't seem to figure out how to access the menus through the car only without using BT.
Hey everyone, about two months ago I bought a new GAPIID tool from Lucky8 and have always had a compatibility problem with my phone. I'm running a Sony z5 compact with the latest android version on it. When I originally contacted them, they said there was nothing they could do for me and to...
Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to do more digging and hopefully the job won't kill me. Gotta love those AB videos, they cover just about everything
I think we're fighting two different problems, mine does it whether or not I brake. Yours kind of sounds like what happened in my old BMW. It started out with a light shudder under braking and eventually got really bad through normal driving. That one turned out to be the front control arm...
curious, does that have a smell problem as well? I have tried giving the wheels a shake while jacked up, and have tried changing lanes whenever it vibrates to see if the vibration stops. Maybe I'm lucky and it's just really early on the wear
Hey so I have what I'm pretty sure is a brake problem. Every now and then when I drive higher speeds on the highway, I'll get a vibration that starts small then gets pretty crazy. When I stop and check it, you definitely smell burning brakes, so I went ahead and replaced the following:
-Rotors...
Ah thanks, so strange that they'd do that. Thanks umbertob, I'll either drop a dummy plug on it or more realistically tape over it. Since I bought my car second hand, I didn't know if some bubbification happened here.
Wait are you talking about during the daytime as DRLs? I've read (so take that with a grain of salt) that apparently the only way to get them to work as DRLs is to buy their DRL options directly from them.
I'm curious as well. I was pondering using the USB port and one of those USB bluetooth devices you can buy on amazon, but I don't know whether that will work or not. I'm kinda miffed at the whole "your phone can make calls and calls only" deal, that combined with what seems to be no other...
I haven't done enough digging in the area to find a good Land Rover Indie shop. I haven't had good luck with the BMW indie shop so I've always DIYd (they were charging more than dealer rates)
Thanks for the tip, I'll crawl under my vic and see what I can see.
Yeah, a lot of the inspections I...
Local dealer wants just about $850 to do this service. I'm looking through the service passport and from the looks of it, most of the labor is inspecting little things on the car, engine oil change and front/rear diff fluid change. My plans are to run factory oil for the diff and Mobil one...
So this may seem like common sense to you guys, but I'm hoping that this may help someone else out there.
Recently I picked up my '11 LR4, and some things I noticed were broken but didn't mind as they were what I thought would be cheap to fix. In this case, the part was $15 and it took me more...
When I picked up my car, the key looked like it was microwaved, and being abused by the BMW key system (where even the battery on my E46 M3 key is molded in) I wastickled pink that not only was the battery easily replaced with a common battery, but the shell was easily replaced as well. What's...
