Hi - My name is Pete - I have a land rover Discovery 2003 - 160K miles
The service light came on - my mechanic tells me that one of the air intake valves has a leak on the secondary air system side. it and it needs to be changes. He says the part is $500 - I am just wondering if anyone has any advice. The part cost seem to be very high - he turned the service light off and he told me it will come vback on and it did. Any guidance would be apprecaited

Welcome to the forum.

Secondary air sadly is expensive, not much you can do about it sadly.

Pete..... slipped over to e (rhymes with "day"!) and see used and new options for a SAI valve that are much less than $500. The valve itself is not tough to change over.... so perhaps a second quote on your repair is in order!

Good luck!
