WOW I LOVE reading all of that! Thank you for the link. I see that you use Motul correct? Do you use the 8100 or 300V? I've read that some have used the 300V in daily drivers but that seems extreme to me but who knows haha. The 8100 looks like a great oil.

Probably overkill if I'm changing every 6.5k miles, but I only have to change my oil twice a year, so it's not a budget-breaker.

The weirdo-spec that was required by Land Rover has been superseded by a newer spec. Some people are untrusting and like to find oil that specifically meets the original spec. If you go by the superseded spec, however (I think it's a new Rover/Jaguar spec), there are a lot of synthetic oils that state they meet it.
