Not that dealers know everything here but… I asked mine about "coding" after a battery swap. He stated that they do plug in and reset something but that it isn't really necessary and he has never heard of any issues if you skip it.

That's what they say, the module will eventually re-calibrate on its own... But I'd still reset the BMS, especially if you are replacing a well spent battery with a new one. Like a learning transmission, self calibration is not immediate and you may get bogus "low battery" faults, or the new battery may be over or under-charged in the meanwhile.
