Hello, 2015 LR4 here - 120k miles. Hoping someone can validate what my mechanic is telling me.
Slow/minor cooling leak. Took it to the mechanic and he indicated it’s the rear crossover pipe (heating manifold). $1,100 to replace/coolant/etc.
I’ve read reports of people saying water pump/front crossover/rear crossover are basically maintenance items. So I asked the mechanic “since you’re in there”, if he would be able to do the front crossover and the water pump as well. Obviously not expecting a freebie or anything, but maybe a bit of savings since he’s already well into things doing the rear anyway. He indicates there is no “overlapping service” at all between doing the rear crossover and the front and/or water pump.
Is this true or should I be looking for a new mechanic?
Secondly, does the price seem fair?
