Defender 90 engine problem

Hi can any one help me iv got a 89 f reg 90 defender, Iv just fitted a new diesal engine which flew in and started first time! The problem im having is it keeps cutting out on me whilst driving? I can drive from my house down the road and it cuts out leave it 10 mins and its fine again for another 600 yards and the same happens again the engine seems to turn over run for 2 seconds and then cut out again???? Has any one else come across this problem and how do i cure it?????

That has something to do with diesel supply. Check the diesel system. Maybe something is blocked or it is getting air in.

fuel line blockage somewhere, check the lift pump.
