Do not have it flushed, and before they change the fluid have them verify the condition of the fluid, be it brown, red and or have a burned smell.

Got Rover back from service .Fluid was red and in good shape. No burnt fluid .Just a bit low but not much.Refilled, with new fluid (just drained the pan) went on a test drive and shifted perfectly. It was around 30 degrees this morning.Everything seems normal. Future will tell

When working with GEMS vehicles. Never try to locate a misfire by pulling plug leads off - pull the injector connector instead. Otherwise you can blow up the ECU.

Sure not related , at all, to this threads information and this vehicle is not a Gems.

Well so far so good.As per Disco Mikes advice (who called me at home on his own time) We dropped the pan ,checked the shape of the fluid (excellent) and refilled adding a pint of Lucas Trans fix. It has been in the low teens in Northern Pa. and the Rovers trans is shifting nicely . My appreciation again to the Land Rover forum and to Disco Mike especially ,who must lay awake at night just figuring out how to help folks!
