I know there are several good options out there but somehow I keep going back to the LR expedition roof rack. What do you think of the rack?

Is it still in production? I thought I had read at some site that it no longer was in production. I think it looks cool, but it's kind of annoying that you need and is only compatible with the short flush OEM rails.

It's very wimpy. Its load rated for 138 pounds. it has no center supports, so anything heavy could bend the rails down to the roof glass. Its based on the factory rails also, so you dont have much to latch onto for ratchet straps, etc.

I think the aftermarket options are much more useful and strong. Roof rack roll call anyone?

Here is the low profile Voyager Off-Road full rack. (with a couple sheets of farmtek flooring. I can stand on this and it doesn't even bend.

mbw - That roof rack is on my list. How much higher above your XM antenna does it go?

The floor bar is just slightly below the top of the antenna. I also have a picture of the height from about the roof glass (the side, it slopes up in the middle) It uses some ~1" metal spacers to mount to 8 locations on the roof where the holes in the weather strip is. So you have a little room under the floor bar for flex (even though it doesn't flex with 250lbs on it in the middle)

The floor on the front area over the front sunroof is level with the side bars. It is higher to account for the sunroof opening. I can't say enough about the quality. Fitment was perfect. Hardware is very solid. I also recommend the Voyager ladder. Fitment is perfect, no drilling or anything to install. A rover tech said he thought it worked better than the OEM ladder.

I have a similar set-up to mbw, but with a full-length Urban Offroad rack. I love it and it's very sturdy. I don't have the HD/Sirius radio, so on my 2013, I don't have the normal antenna, it's just a small raised antenna for the navigation.

I like the look of the OEM expedition rack. I actually recently saw one on Craiglist in CA:

Here are a few shots of my roof rack (full-sized Urban Offroad that fits on the full-length roof rails - also available for the half-rails):

Really? I am definitely getting a ladder, but wasn't sure which one.

Just a couple more notes. The voyager rack, (and im sure with the urban too) you can have it made to your specs. So, for example, the rear bar that Finlayforprez has but I dont. Or the 'floor' on the front part that I have, etc.

So do lots of searching of images, because you really can customize. I bought mine from Kaaae, but it was exactly what I wanted. Mine has mount points for lights on the front, one for the rear. you can have them add shovel mounts, hilift, whatever you want.

The voyager full rack (normal) also has the little bump in it like the urban rack. I wanted the low profile in part because its flat from front to back. I like to flatten the top and hide the roof bump a little.

You also dont need any factory rails for the voyager rack.

Details are fun!

Here is the voyager ladder. Its skinny up top and avoids the light fixture more.
