I have a 2009 LR3 and when I put it in drive it will not engage initially for a few seconds. Once it engages and reaches a higher gear it drives fine with no issues. However, when you slow down into lower gear again it will not initially engage but once it does and I reach a higher gear it drives with no issues. Has anyone had similar issues? I only have 55,000 miles

Well i'd first check the transmission fluid, do I still have enough, is it dark already, etc. At 55k, maybe it's not so serious. But if that doesn't do it, i'd have my dealer take a good look. It's still better to have an experienced technician diagnose the problem.

It sounds like internal problems on the tranny. Let me know if you need help.
