Does it seem logical that the tire pressure on 255 60R18's should be over 40psi? I've never known any car to have maximum psi numbers in that range...Kinda afraid to inflate that high. Anyone else inflating at those lofty numbers??

Thanks!

My new 19s have 40psi, tire guys acted as though they were doing me a favor pumping them that high.

Nice, Dropper. Well, the warning light went off afterwards so maybe it does make sense.

Many thanks!

I inflate the stock 255/55R19s to 47 psi regularly. Their max is 50 psi.

Right! For a vehicle this heavy it would only seem logical.

People seem to see better tire wear with them pumped up to ~40psi. We run our Grabber AT2s at 38 front, 42 rear and have been very pleased (this was based on other people's recommendations on this board).

I had them overpumped one time (didn't realize it until after a long road trip) and it worked out well for gas mileage!

I keep them at the recommended F/R PSI, if not a touch higher. On the sand I drop them to 20/24.

I think I'll raise mine above the door posted numbers for our next big road trip - but we're already planning to drive the A3 for an overnighter on Saturday: 2 parents and one child, 30 mpg vs 17.5, hmmm.

When I had the Zeon LTZ's put on two weeks ago, they did 32 all around. Definitely too mushy. Right now I have them at 32/42, and I think I'll go up to 38/46 or so. I think the max listed on the sidewall was 48 or 50, can't remember which.
