You don't need a lift. If you have any rubbing issues it is going to be with the frame horns or the fender lining. A lift won't help.. you still have to articulate up into the wheel wells and have things work! IMO it is harder on your IFS to run lifted all the time anyway. harder on the CVs, harder on the air struts.

If you must do it for the look, that is one thing, but also consider the stress on the parts. Also, if you really are off roading in a serious way and need the size.. you also are screwed if you have a bad EAS fault or air failure and get stuck on your bump stops.

If anything, adding a lift may only exacerbate these rubbing problems as, due to the physics of an independent suspension, lifting the LR4 brings the wheels closer to the frame.

IID Tool. There's a lot of threads on the forum about it. You're not getting much feedback on rods because most LR owners here do not use them. There's a handful, sure.. but most are using IID Tool for off-road use and standard height the rest of the time. 265/65/18 is the common choice for tire size.

What Surf said is 100% true.
I tried running lifted all the time, for about 2 days, hated it.
The IID Tool is great not just for lifting, but for diagnostics, programming, and general vehicle health.

Yo Jag doc, i forget, are you a veterinarian or a mechanic ? I see you're on some blizzaks. what size? I am on some bad ass Nokian LT2 winter studded E load range 17" ! Took some work but fitted rover 17" wheels. These tires are the ideal winter proportion being narrower. The 17" wheel is only 7" wide, which is perfection for the 245/75x17 roughly 31.5".

Still need to test my chains on them too for the ultimate deep snow/trail use. anything on the road though is simply nothing at all on the studs.

I mention these Nokian tires because they make an 18" too in the just fitting 32" size of 275/65x18 E load etc. Killer tread too. You lr4 people could run them using spacers I guess or those compomotive wheels.

I run a 245/60R20 for the DM-V1s
Nokkian did not have the tire size I wanted.
Much easier to fit 17" wheel to a LR3, than a LR4. Although there are many 18 options now, so it a possibility when i need new tires :)

Also the name come from a while ago when I was a Master Tech at Jaguar (Early 2000's)

Yes, I have the 285/65 R18 on my LR4 2010. I have fitted also the 33" x 12.5" R17 (Brakes modification is needed for 17").
You must cut the chassy in the front, cut and relocate some plastics.
In the back need to bend some metal and plastic cutting also.
Absolutely recommended a lifting system (EAS modules, or reprograms) and a proper new wheel alignment.

HI- Do you have any pictures? How are you liking this setup? I would like to run the same size tire!

Thanks
