I'm back, unfortunantly.

After a weekend of some minor offroading, nothing major, a few days later I am now hearing metal rolling around when I'm driving.

The sound is that of a penny in tin can that you shake in a circular motion. When it's slow you hear it roll off the sides, when I go fast I don't hear it much at all as the centerfugal force has it stuck to the walls.

I put the car up on my friends lift, and it's coming from right behind the CDL. (The ********* circular thing before the driveshaft from the best we can tell) It only happens when rolling.

I haven't noticed any issues in driving performance wise, just this annoying tinging as I drive down the road. Also, when on the lift we put the car in drive, and both the front and rear tires spun even though the CDL was not locked. Is that normal?

Thanks for the help, I'm trying to figure out the source of the sound, so I know what to open up before I tear apart the whole driveline.

Parking/transmission/emergency brake has a problem. Something came loose.

That, FWIW, is the ********* drum behind the transfer case and in front of the rear driveshaft.

Your wheels turning is normal.
