So after taking a do-over on the roof rack idea, I settled on the Front Runner Load bars. Not the full rack, but the two load bars. I went with Front Runner so that If i decided to go with a full rack in the future, I would already have the mounts.
They look great and work nicely with my Thule Kayak mounts, but even with the mounts removed, the bars are noisy as hell when running at anything over 50 mph. I was thinking to maybe put a pad or pipe wrap on them just to disrupt the wind. Has anyone found a good way to deal with this? I may call front runner directly next week to see how they deal with it.
