Ok, so... this little bugger is really starting to chap me. I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery II with about 130,000 miles on it. I have had it for about a year and have slowly been updating it. I recently replaced the plugs (with the Iridium ones) and replaced the wires (with the Magnacore 8mm's), re-plumbed the whole cooling system, cleaned out the throttle body and well... I really take care of the Rove and with all of the other recommendations that I have been learning here I felt I was doing a good job.
Yesterday while driving home about a mile from home I felt the Rover surge a bit and then it continued driving fine. About a few seconds later (about a half mile) later it completely shut down. I tried to start it and it wouldn't completely turn over to start (it does turn over fine though, just no start). I decided to just walk home and wait it out. I came back about 30mins later and tried to start it and it started back up fine. I was worried so I went into town and purchased a OBD II scanner in hopes that maybe it was throwing codes (the service engine soon came on, but it normally does when the key is on the on position and its not started). I hooked it up and no code issues. I decided I would give it the "ol college try" so I drove it to work this morning. It was fine until about a mile from work (odd how that worked) and it completely stalled on me again. I haven't went back out to try to start it but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will start again.
Now, I have read some other posts with similar issues... but I have a hard time buying parts that I don’t need.
I do put Premium gas in her, in fact the last fill up I used the Shell Premium.
Anyone have any advice or information that you could give me? I would really appreciate it!
