I searched and haven't found a good answer. I am not looking for an instruction to remove an engine from DII. I've got an official workshop manual for that.
What I am looking for is, real world practical tips and shortcuts from exprienced people who has done this before. Steps I could skip or work around to speed up the process. I've replaced many engines from other foreign cars, all FWD V6s but never a 4WD V8.
Also, I need to pull a good donor engine from a parts car located in 100 miles away so I would like to know a quickest way to extract it out of a parts car and how many hours I should plan for it. Possible to do it in an afternoon? Any special tools I need?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am planning the extract mission for this weekend but will be installing the new engine into my DII at more leisure pace.
