I have not seen an Rhinohitch in person, but my understanding is that they attach to the factory receiver in the same manner as the factory tow adapter, but then curve up to also attach to the factory recovery point. Seems like the load capability would be the same, if that is correct.
Powerful UK has a youtube clip on how to rebuild the British version, which is the same inside as the American version.
I love the powerfuluk videos. That guy's delivery style is great; he comes across like the buddy you call up to come over and help you do stuff while drinking beer in the garage.
I’m gonna’ have to disagree with the statement “easy to use design”. Who ever designed the OEM - well, let’s just say.....WHY???? It’s a real PITA to drop and install the draw bar - every time. I used to leave mine on permanently, but since I haven’t towed in some time, have taken it off. When I go to put it back on again, I will expect the same PITA experience. I don’t know what they were thinking when they designed it this way.
YES! You're only the second to ask and we've had those plates on two different F250s for about 10 years. Technically, we're on Son of Stampy.LOL. Stampy. As in Bart's pet elephant?
Do you have the towing package with your vehicle. If so you will find the adaptor under the panel on the left side behind your back seat. It is just opposite the panel where the jack is stored. To know if you have the tow package just look under the panel you removed yesterday and if you see the trailer light electrical plug. If you don't have the plug you will not find the adaptor. They adaptor and wiring came as a package. If you want to purchase an adaptor I have one from my LR3. It will fit your vehicle if you don't have a full size spare tire.
