Should I bother putting the OE GoodYear Wranglers back on?

I'm getting ready to take off the Nokian winter tires after this last weekend of skiing. What a great winter tire! I recall thinking that the OE GoodYear wranglers were really bad in the rain and prone to hydroplaning with just 8000 miles on them. Anybody else think they are bad in rain? I hate to throw them out with just 8000 miles on them but they do look half gone already. I've never been one to run the tires until bald and risk the family's safety. What do you think...should I just get rid of these poor tires now and get a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATRs?

The Goodyear wasn't ranked too bad. Ranked at 56 out of 69...

Get rid of them it is not worth your familys safty.
I like the GY MTR for 19" but if you stay on the road you may want somthing else.

It depends on whether you want mediocre or awesome. I'm in the same spot, snow tires are coming off and I have to decide whether or not to prematurely trash the michelins (which are perfectly adequate). Looking at the silent armors.

Paul, you on-road mostly - or off-road?

The Scorpions are better than the GoodYears, but not by much IMHO.

For on-road use, I went with Toyo Proxes ST II - awesome tire, great grip and stunning wet weather performance - and so much quieter than the Goodyears!

If you are going to stay on the road I would go with the AVONs I had a pair and they were great in all weather conditions and the wear was good I only got rid of them becouse I wanted the coopers. You can't beat them for the money.

I think you should get some 22" Redbourne Saxons... and purple underlighting too

In addition to road use, our LR3 is on a nearby drive-on beach 2 to 3 times a week in the summer. I like the MTRs but sometimes a too aggressive tread pattern hurts traction in sand, as they dig in more as opposed to floating over the top. The wranglers were pretty good in sand, but as I mentioned, they were bad in the rain.
