Rear Tire Carrier - Any Regrets in Daily Life?

I had the same experience with my Voyager. It had been powder coated without any priming/rust prevention, and it started to rust heavily after a couple of years. I ended up getting it re-powdercoated by a local firm and it's held up great.

SC V6 Overheat Spike at Highway Speeds

No warnings or anything of note on the IID Tool. I think I'll replace the thermostat with Lucky8's 82 degree version and do the water pump at the same time.

Rear Tire Carrier - Any Regrets in Daily Life?

I’ve had a spare tyre carrier for many years now and love it; the minor inconvenience of swinging it prior to opening the hatch is offset by being able to use it to haul extra items (rotopax, propane, trash carrier) and it being a handy step to get in/out of my rooftop tent. I would strongly...

SC V6 Overheat Spike at Highway Speeds

Hey folks! Wondering if anyone has experienced this before? My SC V6 (~95k miles) has recently started overheating in a very specific situation: when you first start it up and begin driving at highway speeds then shortly afterwards, the coolant gauge will spike and there’ll be an overheat...

    Start/Stop ECO question

I agree; it sounds like the battery is dying. I experienced similar symptoms when my start/stop battery died. It only lasted about five years. Switching it out and a battery reset fixed it for me.

    Rear wheel carrier latch question

A bunch of problems: 1. They don't rust prep the steel before powder coating. All it takes is a small chip and rust will begin to form on the steel. Unlike with paint, rust propagates quickly under powder coat. I just had the whole arm sandblasted and powder coated by a reputable firm who added...

    Keyless Entry Antenna Location

There's one antenna by the towing/recovery hitch at the back of the vehicle (at least, there is on 2014+'s). Not sure if that constitutes "load-space".

    Rear wheel carrier latch question

Avoid the Voyager one at all costs -- their products are poorly made. I have spent as much as the swing arm cost just fixing it up.

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

GaiaGPS through CarPlay will do that and much, much more. Topo maps, forest service maps etc.

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

Really hoping they figure it out! I have the Naviplus CarPlay integration with the factory screen. On the MY14+ facelift it does a decent job, but I'd love a larger screen. There are a bunch (10+) of different sellers on AliBaba selling a very similar unit to the PowerfulUK one, but the...

    Relocating backup camera

That's great news! I'm stoked to hear it's working for you and that it seems like there's a standardisation around the video signals. I've wanted to upgrade/replace the factory camera with something that has better low light performance. Have you noticed a difference in image quality with your...

    Relocating backup camera

FYI, this is what the visibility looks like with the camera relocated to the other side of the trunk handle. You get ~90% of the vision:

    Relocating backup camera

I successfully relocated my camera to the other side of the trunk release handle assembly; I purchased another assembly from eBay from a car without a camera (perhaps an LR3) and then cut out a slot that fit my OEM camera. It was a bit fiddly, but not too bad. The factory cable was long enough...

Best rack for LR4 without factory rails

The wind deflector didn’t help much. I think a lot of wind noise comes from the wind passing around each of the slats.

Best rack for LR4 without factory rails

The ProSpeed rack is definitely worth considering too. It's high quality and low profile. I had the FrontRunner rack for a couple of years. It's strong and there are a ton of accessories available, but it has terrible wind noise at speeds >70mph.
