Gap tool
Make sure it is the G3 version before anything else. If not email Gap and they offered a trade in program. With the new software release earlier this year it provides that same functions I use it for on my LR4. Reset service, parking brake service release, add a key (yes it works on the D5!)...- DonC

Discovery 5 Air Suspension
Could you use the 14-16 LR4 (D4) manual since the SCV6 engine is the same? I know i had to refer to that when i replaced my SC last year on my D5. Too large to upload here.- DonC

Just a quick update to this. The firmware for the Gap tool is now out of beta for the +2017 vehicles. I was able to program an additional key yesterday with no issues. It does take a few steps with emails to gap to get everything unlocked for key programming but it does work now. I have also...- DonC

Show off your D5
Sure.. the antenna install just changed for me though as I added a frontrunner rack and used their mount as shown in the profile picture. The main unit was a bit tricky to find a secure place. I have the 275 mounted under the drivers seat in my LR4 but the space there is very limited in the D5...- DonC

It is still in beta for the D5 (anything post 2017) right now. First thing that a user would need to do would is be on the Ver 3 of the device as the older ones will not work. Patrick does offer a trade in option to get the V3. I have been able to do a few things with it like reset adaptives...- DonC

I went for a gasser. I called a old friend of mine that was at the time the service manager for North Texas British ( A well known repair shop in Dallas) and mentioned I was looking at a D5 for the LR4 replacement. He mentioned that they were seeing a bunch of them coming in due to DPF issues...- DonC

The GAP tool just released beta firmware that should start supporting the D5 now. I have it on mine and starting to test with it. Let me see what options are available with the D5 and TPMS.- DonC

Windshield wiper
You can swap to a D1 wiper arm (both front and rear) with no issues. -
Coolant consumption
I picked up a D5 late last year up in Dallas after my lr4 was hit in Houston. Since I could not wait for a new vehicle to arrive i purchased used up in Dallas and brought it home about 3.5 hours away. Would like to confirm a few details on 2015 SCV6 maintenance
I used the quality superchargers kit on my 17 D5 that has pretty much the same engine as the LR4 SC. It needed to be rebuilt so I ordered the complete rebuilt SC with the reduction pulley. Noticeable difference with the smaller pulley. If you decide to just change the SC oil they also have a kit... -
Top of Door Panel Damage
Mastaplasta makes a leather patch kit that works well. I had a small area on my drivers side do the same thing. Applied this patch 2 years ago and it has worked well. Close match to the pattern on the leather as well... -

Towing with 2017 Discovery
I am using the anderson. More for sway than weight distribution. The D5 is a fantastic tow vehicle dare i say it but even better than my LR4 with the 5.0 in it. Rock solid at speeds even when being passed by a semi.- DonC
