Gap tool
Make sure it is the G3 version before anything else. If not email Gap and they offered a trade in program. With the new software release earlier this year it provides that same functions I use it for on my LR4. Reset service, parking brake service release, add a key (yes it works on the D5!)...- DonC

Could you use the 14-16 LR4 (D4) manual since the SCV6 engine is the same? I know i had to refer to that when i replaced my SC last year on my D5. Too large to upload here.- DonC

Just a quick update to this. The firmware for the Gap tool is now out of beta for the +2017 vehicles. I was able to program an additional key yesterday with no issues. It does take a few steps with emails to gap to get everything unlocked for key programming but it does work now. I have also...- DonC

Show off your D5
Sure.. the antenna install just changed for me though as I added a frontrunner rack and used their mount as shown in the profile picture. The main unit was a bit tricky to find a secure place. I have the 275 mounted under the drivers seat in my LR4 but the space there is very limited in the D5...- DonC

It is still in beta for the D5 (anything post 2017) right now. First thing that a user would need to do would is be on the Ver 3 of the device as the older ones will not work. Patrick does offer a trade in option to get the V3. I have been able to do a few things with it like reset adaptives...- DonC

I went for a gasser. I called a old friend of mine that was at the time the service manager for North Texas British ( A well known repair shop in Dallas) and mentioned I was looking at a D5 for the LR4 replacement. He mentioned that they were seeing a bunch of them coming in due to DPF issues...- DonC

The GAP tool just released beta firmware that should start supporting the D5 now. I have it on mine and starting to test with it. Let me see what options are available with the D5 and TPMS.- DonC

You can swap to a D1 wiper arm (both front and rear) with no issues. -

Would like to confirm a few details on 2015 SCV6 maintenance
I used the quality superchargers kit on my 17 D5 that has pretty much the same engine as the LR4 SC. It needed to be rebuilt so I ordered the complete rebuilt SC with the reduction pulley. Noticeable difference with the smaller pulley. If you decide to just change the SC oil they also have a kit... -
Top of Door Panel Damage
Mastaplasta makes a leather patch kit that works well. I had a small area on my drivers side do the same thing. Applied this patch 2 years ago and it has worked well. Close match to the pattern on the leather as well... -

Towing with 2017 Discovery
I am using the anderson. More for sway than weight distribution. The D5 is a fantastic tow vehicle dare i say it but even better than my LR4 with the 5.0 in it. Rock solid at speeds even when being passed by a semi.- DonC

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?
I thought I would post on this since I just updated my 17 D5 SCV6 with the 12% reduction pulley. I bought this D5 last Dec after my LR4 was wiped out by a young kid in houston. After bringing the D5 home i found an issue with the SC snout and decided to pull it all apart and upgrade some things... -

Thermostat outlet hose
It did. Replaced just this part and no issues with it. Exact same size as the part it replaces. I wish this had been available earlier this year when I changed the water pump on my lr4. -

I found this little gem after having to do a water pump replacement on a new to me 2017 D5 Lux with the SCV6 that I purchased the first of Dec. I was in a bit of a rush to get into a vehicle since my LR4 was just in a hit and run with a underage driver (and my D2 had just sold the week before)... -
2018 HSE TD6 brake controller
I just installed a redarc in my 2017 HSE lux gasser with the tow package and the plug was up there. I needed to remove the plastic covering from the underside of the dash in order to get my hand up in there to fit it. Look for it on the right side of the pedal up into the dash.- DonC

Curt trailer Hitch install info for a 2012 LR4?

Towing Questions.
Redarch sells a adapter to plug into the Techonsha wiring. Techonsha sells the adapter to the ford plug in the back. Seems a bit much to use 2 adapters but would mean no splicing of wires and a simple install. I am planning on using the Redarch controller in a 130 if they ever are released... -
