LR4 Parking brake manual release
I wish I had seen this thread before. Mine went bad and I had to get the LR4 towed on rollers. The shop tried to pull the cable from under the cup holder but that didn't work. Did they miss a step? Does the vehicle need to be in neutral? Does my foot need to be on the brake? And does the cable... -

Suspension Fault!!!
I've had that happen 3-4 times over the last eight years on my 2011. I can get it to reset by stopping the car, engine off, lock car doors and wait a minute or two for computer to reset. Same trick works when the radio won't play or other random things occur. -

They did replace the rear drums also so may not have performed the service correctly. -

Not using the emergency/parking brake is not an option for me as I live in the Bay Area, where we have lots of steep hills! You may be able to get away with it somewhere else, though. I doubt there’s any negative to just not using it. -

Thanks for the tips on how to release the parking brake. I took it in and their first question was whether I had just replaced my rear brakes. Apparently it’s easy to screw up the parking brake when you do the rear brakes if you don’t know what you’re doing. I had mine replaced two weeks ago... -

I’m reading this post as I wait for a flat bed tow truck to pick up my 2011 LR4 because the parking brake is stuck and won’t disengage. I’ve tried powering off the car completely to let it reset and even removing the fuse but it still won’t budge. -

LR4 Camera System Fault
I've had camera drop-outs and screen flickering and blue screen issues on my 2011 LR4 since the day I bought it. I recently took it back to the dealer for a different issue, and they applied a software patch to fix all of the screen flickering and blue screen issues related to the cameras. Works...
