"Clicking noise" when fan is on lowest speed (02 Disco II)

Is there an easy way to get to the fan and check it out? What has to be moved/removed to get to it? Thanks, Rich NGOphotographer

"Clicking noise" when fan is on lowest speed (02 Disco II)

Hi: I'm getting a faint "clicking noise" when the heater/A/C fan is on Auto and the lowest speed. Do the Disco IIs have a separate "low speed fan" or recirculation fan? The reason I ask, is if I set the heater/A/C to manual and turn up the speed it goes away. Any ideas on what I can do...

    Snow chains on Disco II

Any recommendations for snow chains on a Disco II with stock wheels & 18" tires? Are there any clearance problems where you need "s" clearance chains or narrower (like the LR3)? Thanks, NGOphotographer

Adding Recovery Points to a Disco II & Bumpers

I'm sure there are a million different combinations, but here is what I'm looking to do. For now, I would like to keep the stock bumpers. In the front, I'll probably be adding a DAP hidden winch mount for the winch. Longer term, I'll probably be going with 1-2" of lift. How do I...

2002 Disco II Lug Nuts; Spare Wheel Lugs, etc.

Hi: Apologies if this has been answered, but I can't find it. I have just acquired a '02 Disco II and have several questions on the Lug Nuts for the wheels and spare wheel (that's on the back). Currently, it has 18" wheels/tires. 1) What is the correct size wrench to use? I want to buy a...

Need fast help pls - Snow Chanis or Cables

That was the same when I went up a couple weekends ago... One secret is to arrive at Yosemite around 4:30/5am. It was snowing hard when we drove up, pulled up to our spot where we were going to shoot sunrise and waited for it. The snow plows came about 6:00am. The ranger drove around...

Pbrover: Thanks for the note. I also got chains so I could go to Yosemite for those once in a decade shots. I wouldn't want to get up there and have the happy ranger turn me away! NGOphotographer

Need fast help pls - Snow Chanis or Cables

Pbrover: I figured that you wanted to hear from a LR employee ;) but thought I would put my $0.02 in. I would very much like to hear what he says. I was at a wheels even in December and forgot to ask the staff. We hadn't had any rain or cold weather 'til just recently. NGOphotographer

Need fast help pls - Snow Chanis or Cables

Ended up with the SCC Z6s. Still have to fit them. The LR3 Manual states to use on the front wheel (p. 210). It may have something to do with the LR3 being permanent (full-time) 4-wheel drive and they way the locking differential is utilized along with the fronts providing the steering...

Need fast help pls - Snow Chanis or Cables

Thanks pbrover! I think I am going to return them and look at SCC Chains (Super Z6) as an alternative. I went to the LR dealer and looked at the actual chains that LR sells for the LR3. They are not the Grip (size 0141). The links are physically smaller (almost half to 2/3 the size)...

Need fast help pls - Snow Chanis or Cables

Ok, maybe I'm inept when it comes to snow chains... I fitted them again this weekend and they seem to touch. I used a mirror and a flashlight and they touch if they move down the tread at all. If they are "high" on the tread, then there is about 1/16" clearance. Here is what I am doing...
