Moab trails with rooftop tent?
I was at the National Rally last September in Moab with my LR3 on 33” tires. We did hells revenge and Top of the World I’ve got a heavy rig with steel roof rack and load that I’d say is close to what a decent RTT weights if not a bit more. I also had a full load in the boot. Dangly bits
They cancel deep frequency vibration in the frame. I’ve heard that rear passengers have become quite nauseous on longer trips in vehicles that have those removed. They should have significant rubber on the mounts, mine don’t make any noise.- PatriotLandyTX

Oversize tires and pressures on- and off-road
I’m running 275/70 18’s (general X3’s) on my LR3 and find a sweet spot on road about 40psi all around with better mileage than even at 38, and not much change in ride. Then off road (I love rocks) I’m really comfortable at 22. 18 was too low. 25 still too stiff.- PatriotLandyTX

Locker behavior questions
My experience is Sand, Mud, and Rock all engage the locker more quickly than others, sand being the most aggressive. Rock crawl dampens the throttle, brakes, and puts the traction control into hyper sensitive mode and in the lead... it wants to crrrrrrrrrrawl. Mud let’s them slip and spin more...- PatriotLandyTX

2013 LR4 I'm new need advice on wheels
2008 LR3 on 33’s Just to clarify, unless you add the lift rods, the Lucky8 SYA kit alone does not lift the vehicle. It does keep it up 2” higher in an EAS failure. What are the two hard lines on passenger side rocker panel?
Yep, similar but not exact same on my LR3. I’ve got 275/70r18’s on my 08. It took a lot of trimming of plastic in front wheel well and lower bumper, horns cut way back, sensor wires moved, rear heater lines re-routed like mentioned above, flattening body seam, and heating up liner to push it in...- PatriotLandyTX

Reviving an old post here, but I’d love to hear how this all panned out for you. I’ve got the same shudder and the indie mechanic is scratching his head a bit. There’s lots of “we could try x” options but that’s an expensive game to play. My gut tells me it’s the torque converter.- PatriotLandyTX

I’d also seriously recommend getting the 18” wheels before buying new tires. I know it’s an expense that you want to avoid or put off but to get the larger sidewall makes all the difference. Someone else may verify this too, however I think at 32” you will still have rubbing up front with the frame horns at 3/4 turn (steering) and likely at the rear at speeds higher than 40 when you hit a dip or bump. It will wear through the wheel liner back there quickly and expose a knife edge...- PatriotLandyTX

I have an 08 LR3 with the full SYA kit and straps, and rhino lift rods plus the gap tool to raise it beyond. Overall about 4” lift to fit 33.2” tires. 275/70r18 General grabber X3 (love) Arnott air struts are the best in my opinion but I’ve used the Atlantic British ones with great success too...- PatriotLandyTX

Steering wheel button Backlighting and horn not working properly
Yes, the only buttons that don’t function now are the horn buttons. The rest all work normally, it’s just the back light on the buttons that don’t work. The voice command and phone buttons are the same too.- PatriotLandyTX
