2016 cost for replacement engine SCV6
$21,642.73. That is what I paid for mine. Factory new engine, upgrade front an rear crossover pipes, new thermostat, spark plugs, fuel injectthors, waterpump, motor mounts, , pretty much everything. Dealership was about $8500.00 less than other dealerships and 1 independent.- Robin Parsons

2014-2016 Traxide Dual Battery Kit Lessons Learned
Have you already performed the battery reset function with a scan tool? If eco light comes on for low battery. It will not go away without code erase and battery reset.- Robin Parsons

2012 LR4 Speaker Replacement
Godard? Jave the same problem with left and right doors on 2014. Both tweak from being blown, mostly with audio books or telephone speech, very annoying. Both have been replaced once. Does anyone know a higher wattage/better quality speakers to avoid having to do this again?- Robin Parsons

Steal of a deal on an LR4 with issues
Don't even consider rebuilding half a motir at that age. Just do a complete rebuild. Having a brand new (or good as new rebuild) on a vehicle in excellent conditions, is golden. Considering a 2014 LR4 Lux Package.... Need Some Advice
I have the same, now with 110k miles. I have loved it, and it is my daily driver, about 20k a year, also my service truck. ABSOLUTELY change the crossover pipes, front and rear. Now. Coasting LR4... While I think your 2016 probably already has the newer style crossovers, look closely at then and make sure. If they have flat sides glued together along the length, then replace asap. Regardless of cost. The well known failures are between 50 and 80k m I kes per most comments...- Robin Parsons

I had no reason to suspect crossover pipes either, ... and then blew with no warning at 55 to 6 mph on a hill. Coolant gone and engine lost in less than 60 seconds. I strongly recommend that you invest in changing both front and REAR crossover pipes. Especially if they are the 2 piece fusion...- Robin Parsons

Chakadog... Change the front and REAR crossovers. Just do it. Before you even drive again. I had just had water pump replaced and cooling system serviced, dealer said all was fine, at 103000 miles. ... $21036.47 and new engine...runs great. Total engine failure at 65mph, in LESS THAN 1 MINUTE...- Robin Parsons

Update: so I negotiated a lot with the dealer (New dealer in town and really good!) They hot a new Factory complete engine for much less than expected. And a small contribution from the Insurance company, so wound up being about the same price as buying a salvage vehicle of remanufactured...- Robin Parsons

Well crap!
It was 100% the crossover. I would encourage everyone above 70 to 80k miles, to change prophylactically...asap! Even at 400 to 600$, it is worth it. Good used engine is $8 to 12k plus labor. New engine $15 to 17k, and a reman in between. So $500 every 70k Mile's is nothing. And I will for sure...- Robin Parsons

Preliminary diagnosis is in fact, the coolant crossover failing, rapid loss of coolant at highway speed, rapid overheat warped valve covers enough to blow oil oil rapidly. Dealer says they have seen it and 50%, in driver stops immediately, can be repaired. I'm having them do a compression test...- Robin Parsons
