    Combining spare-on-bumper with bike rack

    You might try a vertical bike rack like Lolo Racks. They just came out with a new swing away arm. It's an awesome combination and the way the rack fits I suspect you could carry at least three (maybe four or five) bikes and your spare tire mount won't be an issue.

    You might look into Paco pads or any of the rafting company equivalents. I know Maravia will make one in a custom size for you. None of the rafting pads are cheap, but they’re more comfortable than a regular thermarest, easier on the body than Tylenol, super durable, and easy to clean.

    For your rack make sure that you go with a tray or vertical style. Putting four adult bikes on one of the base models where the frame sits on cups is a recipe for scratched bikes.
