Are you able to get the alignment done at any reputable shop? Or does it need to be the dealer or LR specialist?
I know some places aren't familiar with the air suspension and the all-wheel drive...
Was wondering if the off road threw off the alignment... I know the LR is tough... but not sure how tough...
For your alignments, do you go to a chain, a local shop, or someone with land rover expertise? I am 100 miles from a Land Rover dealership and don't think there are many shops in town...
Does this affect the 2008 LR3? Or have they fixed the glitch?
I am at mile 2300 and noticing a pull to the right and my steering wheel not being level when going straight... but I am also transitioning from a BMW M3... so it might be a lack of tolerance on my part (two very different vehicles)...
Thanks. Yeah I like the quick release setup on the hannibal...
But that brings up a question... weight tolerances. RackAttack and other sites say that the Thule/Yakima racks can support up to 168lbs... great for bikes, canoes, etc. But once you throw a Yakima basket on there (50lbs) or a...
Yeah. I have actually seen kids/teens/adults purposely bang their door into the car next to them just b/c it was there... and then brag to their friends.
I don't mind damage that comes from me using the rover as a rover...but when its just other people being negligent or just evil... thats...
Just got an email from my dealer. Said I SHOULD have the red plastic insert that goes in the hitch receiver slot when not in use...
He is going to grab one from parts and I will just pick it up the next time I am in the area.
Yeah. That was my thinking. Mine didn't come with the receiver and so I figured LR had just quietly quit including them to help with the profit margins a bit.
Like you said... I doubt I will need to tow something "by surprise"... so might as well keep the receiver, hitch, pin, etc all in the...
Thule and Yakima both make crossbar kits that will fit the LR3.
So there are at least four options.
1. The LR OEM crossbars
2. Yakima pads (they adapt the system to the LR3 rails), towers (pad to cross bar), and cross bars (these are round bars)
3. Thule's standard pads, towers, and...
I thought about one too. But realized for my needs (bikes, boats, etc) a more modular system would be better... plus if I need a basket Thule/Yakima make some nice ones. Sure they aren't as bulletproof as the full on Hannibal/Land Rover/etc ones... but they get the job done, can be taken off...
Got my trailer hitch receiver, wiring harness, and tow bar/ball set yesterday... and went to scope out the wiring harness install (Planning to do a how to to demystify it for other Rover newbies)... and I noticed two things.
1. Missing receiver hitch slot plastic protector. Both the manual...
I don't want to start a flame war... but would like some feedback on racks and crossbars.
For now, I am just going for crossbars and sport specific mounts... I need to mount two bikes, a canoe, and the occasional kayak and what not... so a full roof rack isn't the best fit.
My debate is...
