    Code P0042

Has anyone had experience with aftermarket sensors for the LR4? I’ve heard people (non LR4-specific) say stay away from aftermarket, but not sure if that’s still true or not. About $100 price difference…

    Code P0042

Hello - 2015 LR4 here. Single code getting thrown of P0042. No other symptoms that I am aware of. P0042 "Bank 1 Sensor 3" It sounds like this is an oxygen sensor, but any idea where this one is located on the vehicle/replacement instructions? Thank you!

    Crossover pipe work

Thanks! Yeah, I asked him for a quote to do the front crossover, water pump, and thermostat, which is when he told me he didn’t have the right tool (alignment pins) and he left it at that. So I guess he had no interest in doing the job. How was it for you? I do most auto work myself whenever...

    Crossover pipe work

Never been changed as far I as I know (I’m the second owner). I’ll probably look to a dealer to have that work done (or a different mechanic). I believe the newer front crossover pipes are metal instead of plastic? Is that true? If so, does that eliminate the issue for good?

    Crossover pipe work

Work is complete. No SC removal. When I picked it up, I questioned him about the cowling removal, saying "isn't it all sheet metal under there"? He said yes, there is sheet metal, but it gives enough clearance to assist with the job. I also asked about "what tool" he needed but didn't have in...

    Crossover pipe work

Unfortunately, I'm not feeling very good about this situation now. I spoke to him yesterday when he was adamant that he didn't need to pull the SC to do the rear crossover. He had already ordered it and is starting the work based on my prior approval. I did ask him for a quote on doing the...

    Crossover pipe work

Just the rear, not the front. Asked him again yesterday based on this thread and he re-confirmed what he originally stated, which is that he does NOT need to remove the SC to replace the rear crossover. Windshield cowling, wiring loom, yes. SC, no.

    Crossover pipe work

Thanks. I believe he said the book stated about 4 hours of work, and when I specifically asked him if he needed to remove the SC to do this work, he sounded surprised and said he didn't think so/wasn't planning on removing it, no.

    Crossover pipe work

Hello, 2015 LR4 here - 120k miles. Hoping someone can validate what my mechanic is telling me. Slow/minor cooling leak. Took it to the mechanic and he indicated it’s the rear crossover pipe (heating manifold). $1,100 to replace/coolant/etc. I’ve read reports of people saying water pump/front...
