That's one of the advantages that Sound Shocker has. +20dB of gain(10x) and it's transformer isolated. Of course you can't drive headphones with it like you can with regular amps but then it doesn't need any external power or batteries. Everything's a trade-off. I know I've seen Boostaroo in... -

If you are going to use the AUX input, most radios will need some help. There are plenty of preamps (boosters) out there. Google "portable headphone amp" or "Sound Shocker Pro" and you'll find plenty of info. Google Sound Shocker
