Hey all,
This damn car is driving me insane. My wife rung this morning and couldn’t get the LR4 started. I was about a 5 hour drive away and the noise was like ***. So being a good boy I drove the hell home and yup, no starting.
I have an AUX Traxide set up and and had the CTEK on there for about 3.5-4 hours. When i got home i tried to start the car and it just goes through the cycles like fast and lots of clicking. 4x4 screen comes up and the 4Lo icon (mountain) blinks. The infotainment screen shows all kind of menus popping up and intermittently the car shuts down completely and than restarts.

I have no idea and the nearest Stealer is like a 45-50 minute tow. Plus I haven’t had any luck with them in Pittsburgh. I checked both batteries and they are both above 12.8 volts.

Any sugggestions?

Currently i have the CTEK directly on the starting battery but that battery and the aux battery disconnected from car for about an hour now.

Help or ideas greatly appreciated mates.

I’ve got a video but not sure how to add it to here.??

How old are the batteries? Sounds like your solenoids are clicking.

If you upload the video to YouTube and post the link here that’s probably the preferred way to share it.

Battery at resting 12.8 volts doesn't mean the battery is good. need to measure the voltage drop as the car is attempted to be started.
this sounds like a bad battery.

when was the last time the car was started?

Thanks, car sat for 2 days.
I had the CTEK on for a couple hours, and pulled the SM relay and put back in.
I tried to start and it started straight up. I shut it down and it started fine again and drove all good.

It’s not the OEM battery. It’s an Interstate model.

I’ll see if starts later again and check the battery, when starting and with multimeter on what should I look for on the meter for draw?

Also, anyone know what the replacement AGM battery is? Any suggestions for an upgrade model and size and what would the OEM one be?

To note, I have the traxide setup with the Optima D34.

Thanks
