I like the tread pattern on the DuraTrac, seems like a good AT. I'd like the white lettering out on mine, old school. I liked the white wall tires and lettering when it was popular decades ago. The website doesn't say how many plys the sidewall is on the DuraTrac. But they don't have 19" sizes...- powershift

When a stick penetrated the side wall of my Continental 4X4 Contact tire there was one option I could find to replace the spare and it was a Pirelli Scorpion, an all season directional runflat. $50 used, mounted and balanced. 2011 LR4 HSE oil question
The way I check mine is to follow the instructions in the manual which is to wait 10 minutes. The gauge will read overfull if you have too much. Lots of people do it different ways, but I want my sump full at all times since I off-road a lot. The engine may drink a surprising amount of oil too...- powershift

LR4 air conditioning blows hot air
How much is a fair price to have it professionally filled? My AC blows cool when 115F, but its not cold. It blows cold under 100F though. Not sure if that could be fixed so it blows cold at 115F?- powershift

If it were mine I'd unplug the sensors and see if it alarms or sets a dash code. I'd rather have default being off instead of on for the alarm. For 19" rims they offer 245/45R19 instead of 255/55/R19. What tires are you going to next? I never said my LR4 does well off-road because of using street tires.- powershift

The transmission could use a stronger cooler. Been thinking about adding one because I off-road when its hot asf, 46+ C. Lots of slow speed crawling, lots of forward, reverse and maneuvering. Yeah, plenty of use there. In Vegas my AC seemed worthless. But realistically I'd probably die on the freeway in traffic without it. Hypothetically, if the bolts were re-used and already stretched then there could be the over-torque condition and strain the metal at the end of the cam weakening it. If the cams were broken inside the head and somehow wedged, then I could see how the snap occurred, but that wasn't part of the...- powershift

That is my year. I would be asking the shop that did your chain questions and check the warranty because that shouldn't happen. Maybe they overtorqued the mounting bolt and that weakened the camshaft where the bolt goes through the cam-to-actuator mounting point. Thats what the evidence shows...- powershift

Sorry for your loss. When I was shopping around for my chain work I found companies wanting to replace the cam actuators, others don't do it. I had mine replaced and it was another $1k. Conceptually if the actuators locked up and failed at the same time then that would explain the broken...- powershift

That is a bummer to have it fail. I replaced that part on my own since the shop wanted $800 to lift the intake manifold while doing the chain. They didn't replace the top and bottom radiator hoses when they replaced the radiator so I'm not so sure how long those last. They look fine, nothing...- powershift

I'd have the system checked because there are many con men out there. But I too smelt coolant after I did all mine. Smelt it in the Mohave desert heat while off-roading, doing a turn around or whatever. I was confident there were no leaks so I let it go. It took months really, but now I don't...- powershift
