    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I agree! If they can reprogram the RRS ECU, they should easily be able to link it to the LR4....or alternatively just program the LR4 ECU with the RRS tables....either way should work. The big question is how much it’ll cost...[emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

No, it’ll have to be VIN coded to the LR4, otherwise the system will not initialize correctly and the “security” will keep the engine from running. Like I said, it’s a giant pain in the rear! Hopefully I’ll have a solution soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

Thus far, there’s only one show stopper I haven’t been able to find a solution to yet....and that’s the ECU. I know my scan tool isn’t capable of programming a new ECU into the vehicle. I’ve called a couple companies offering stock replacement ECU’s and they’re not willing to do any kind of...

    Door deadening

I meant to ask, where did you get all your plastic pins for the doors/door cards? Also, I may have read it wrong, but you mentioned rubber seal? Was that already in the door, or did you add it? Sorry, I haven’t taken the panels off this vehicle yet....I figure it’s better to order the parts...

    Pistons from ebay?

Hey Guys! Here’s my dilemma... I’ve found a set of pistons for my 2010 LR4, but they’re from eBay. (Actually I’m looking at a set of 8 for the super charged engine, but that’s a different thread). Typically, ordering stuff off eBay is not a problem, but in this case, I have to wonder a little...

    Door deadening

Wow, thanks for the write up! I’m actually a few months away for several modifications/upgrades to my 2010 LR4 as well. I did just bit the bullet and bought the 825W amp for a 2012 system to install, and then I plan on retrofitting AudioFrog speakers into the vehicle to make sure they can...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I have to agree, 510 hp for off-roading, plus the extra parts may be a little over kill! As far as whether it’s worth it? Well, more horsepower is ALWAYS worth it in my book! That said, I also have a tinkering problem, and am always looking for a new challenge, and this qualifies...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I plan on posting it as I go! Hopefully the e-pump/fan upgrade will help solve the water pump and crossover tube issue too....time will tell! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

You’re right, the newer engines aren’t like the old iron V8’s, but I have yet to come cross an aluminum head that didn’t at least need to be polished before going back on. You’re right, I will have to replace the pistons to the lower compression ones as well as the crank. Also, the heads are...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

You’re right, but I have a slight “tinkering” problem! That said, I’m fairly confident my head gasket is on its way out, so at a bare minimum I’m taking the heads off.....which then sparks the question, do I pull the engine and have the block decked? I also feel like my TC is starting to hit...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

Quick update: I’ve been looking into the head differences more and more, and I made a small discovery. Originally I thought the valves were identical between the two cyl heads....as it turns out the exhaust valves are the same, but the intake valves are different. Which makes sense as the SC...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

About 100K But, I’ve already bought all the timing chain/head gasket stuff. So even if I buy the RTO, I’ll probably go back through it and rebuild it just to be safe....I’m kinda OCD like that. [emoji28] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I’ll keep you guys in the loop as things develop, but I too need to start a timing belt/head gasket update....at that point, I figure I’ll just pull the whole motor, rebuild everything and even put a new TC in, just to be safe. A crate motor would be the best way to do it, but so I’ve it...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

Yeah, I’m kinda going for OEM feel, just more horsepower. Aka, this is my wife’s DD, so everything had better work the way it’s supposed to! Translation, no Check engine light. Truthfully, that’s what’s driving the swap for me. In theory, and I stress the theory part, I should be able to...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

Thanks for the parts source! I was most likely going to use eBay for a donor engine. Although, I’m starting to think I may yank mine out and rebuild it from the ground up....it MAY be cheaper. May being the key word! Although a w low mileage drop in has its appeal as well! Sent from my...

    PWM logic assistance

As I understand it, the fan, even at full lock turns at a different rpm than the engine. This is just due to the crank pulley vs fan pulley diameter difference. Take it one step further, and when the fan isn’t at full lock, which in theory is most of the time, is spinning completely different...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

The pistons are different on the supercharged engine to drop the compression ratio. Unfortunately, just bolting a supercharger on isn’t going to work, it’s kinda got to be a full engine swap....or maybe I’ll rebuild my block with the different pistons and add a supercharger. [emoji848] I may...

    PWM logic assistance

Hey guys! I’m hoping someone in the forums understands how the LR ECU handles PWM signals? Long story short, I’m in the process of swapping to an electric water pump and electric cooling fans. The only real problem I haven’t solved (aside from how to route the serpentine) is how to fool the...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

Hello all! Let me kick this particular conversation off with where I’m at. I’ve got a 2010 LR4 with about 170K miles on it. The engine is slightly overdue for all the timing chain fun, but it’s also developing a coolant issue. Before you ask, the water pump and crossover tube are fine...

IID Tool - RPM fluctuates, hard downshift?

It agree it sounds like you’re having some trans issues. That said, the first thing I’d do before taking it in, is change the trans fluid, trans fluid filter (I recommend the upgraded pan with removable filter), and finally, and this is a BIG one, replace your mechatronic seals. A lot of...

    2012 LR4 HSE Speaker Upgrade

Just FYI, the timing chain isn’t due until 150K miles...hopefully that’ll relieve a little stress....and another quick FYI, I’m at about 157K on mine....but yes, I’m starting to get REALLY nervous. But $4K for the parts alone is A LOT to swallow right now. And the 825W amp...I found on...

    2012 LR4 HSE Speaker Upgrade

Pretty much the same for me too.... the JL audio speakers I’d like to put in there range from $400-$900 per pair....and at 14 (or 17) speakers, that’s getting astronomically pricey. And that doesn’t even factor amps in. When coupled to the fact that I’ve got to do the timing chains, elec...

    2012 LR4 HSE Speaker Upgrade

I can think of plenty of things to do, it’s the cheap part that’s hard! [emoji12] I too am at that point where I’ve got to invest some $$ into the engine as it’s just time. Which, while necessary, drains all available “fun” funds. [emoji22] Seriously though, try adding a sub and see how it...
