    Heater core swap

The only other question that comes to mind is, “when’s the last time you replaced the water pump?” There could be an issue there as well.

    Infotainment Display Error

I’ll check in the settings as soon as my son gets back with the car. (he’s due in Tuesday). I didn’t know they had a bright and a dark setting. It’s worth a shot! As for it working, the Sirius and Bluetooth audio work fine, the 4x4 info is there, the nav system works. The only apparent...

    Infotainment Display Error

Hey All! I'm hoping someone smarter than me can solve this issue for me. Long story short, I have officially replaced the entire Denso infotainment system with a newer style Bosch one in my 2010 LR4. So much so, that I've even updated the BCM, IPC and ABS module to a 2013 and re-VIN'd the IPC...

    Heater core swap

I think it’s the same kit I bought…and yeah, I think I paid like $150 or $200 for mine. It’s not cheap, but it makes life SOOOO much easier!!

    Heater core swap

Ha! So I'm not going crazy! As for the vacuum fill process, it's REALLY easy. Full disclosure, I bought the AIR LIFT kit off FCP Euro...wasn't the cheapest, but it's very effective! Plus I used parts and a few extras I bought to switch it from vacuum to pressure so I can pressure check as...

    Heater core swap

Unfortunately, to access the front heater core, the entire....and I mean entire dash comes out. Which also means you have to disconnect your AC evaporator lines as well. From the sound of things, I would agree it sounds like a sir pocket, or some sort of blockage. Have you looked inside the...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Yeah, I'm not going to lie, our son inherited....ok, stole our 2010 LR4 when he started driving. That said, you just can't beat how safe and sturdy these things are. Given how crazy other drivers are, and how new drivers can make mistakes, we figured putting him in the safest car we owned was...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Sorry for the delays folks, the holidays kicked my butt, and I didn't get nearly as much time to work on my LR4 as I wanted. But, we survived Thanksgiving and the college kid didn't seem too disgruntled, so I'm calling it a win! I was able to get the AC system evacuated and charged, 2lbs of...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

I checked Palm Beach and they show “discontinued” on their site. However, the other site, I don’t know that I’ve even been there! Hard to think of these things as “classics!” Lol! Thanks for the info!

    Project Dark Knight Rising

It's been a minute, but in truth I haven't made a ton of progress. I did manage to get the power steering pressure line reconnected with a new banjo bolt and washers. (Still can't believe I lost the originals...smh). I also got the remaining hoses in place, I just ran into one small issue...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Actually, I haven’t seen those before. Definitely gonna go play with the SDD files. That said, most of what I need to do is correctly code the vehicle keyless module and PCM so they talk and play nice. If those two like each other, it should unlock the ignition and the car will start….in theory.

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm getting close, but the hardest part is yet to come, and that's figuring the SDD tool out enough to unlock and integrate the PCM to get the car to start!!

    Intercooler pump mounting pics

Looking at the ferment notes across several websites, it’s the same Bosch pump from 2006 - 2015. But one would think the larger supercharger would require more cooling…

    Intercooler pump mounting pics

That’s perfect! Thank you! I figured it mounted to the frame or over next to the reservoir/power steering reservoir. I have all the hoses, and in truth I figured they’d lead me to the proper mounting location! The good news is that if the radiator is any indication, the mounting points will...

    Intercooler pump mounting pics

Hey All! I’m just about finished with the 5.0SC swap into my 2012 LR4. In theory, I am going to finish connecting all the coolant hoses this weekend and charge the system. The big ask I have for y’all is if you have any pics of exactly where the intercooler pump is mounted? I have a new pump...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Hey All!! Well, it's been a hot minute, but I finally got all the "to-do" list taken care of at my mom's place, and FINALLY had a few minutes to work on my project! I wish I could report it fired up and ran great...but I'm not quite there yet. I had to order a few new parts to finish the SC...

    AC Condenser Replacement Part Quality?

I know it's been a hot minute, but I finally got all the "honey-do" projects done at my mom's place and had a few minutes to work on my project again! So, after our discussions here I decided to "just" buy the charcoal canister and see how things went. Truthfully, with the cooling core out...

Transmission taking too long to shift

Aside from the sheer cost of the fluid, the beauty of “just doing” fluid is that you don’t have to pull the pan. Once you pull the pan, that’s when all those options come into play. That said, in truth, I went in the first time I did mine and only swapped mechanic seals and upgraded to the...

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

Hopefully the original shop will do the right thing. On a good note, once the mechanic is correctly reassembled…with yet another new separator plate, it should be fine and able to transplant to any new transmission, be it a rebuilt one of a used one. FYI, I just rebuilt one for my SCV8 LR4...

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

I’ll second that! I bought one that had 70K on it, and while I did go in and rebuild it as a precaution, the internals were in impeccable shape. These ZF gearboxes really do last.

Transmission taking too long to shift

You don’t need to manually shift 1-6, just, R-N-D-N-R-P. Just make sure you pause for 10-15 seconds in each gear to allow for all the air to be purged from the channels.

    High Pressure Fuel Pump Question

Lesson learned when I swapped mine, pulled the alternator....it'll make life A LOT easier to get to. then start at the front and work toward the rear. I left the alternator in while I tried to get them off and it was a pain. As for the one bank running "rich," I'd smoke check the intake...

    F/S: iLand diagnostic tool

is it the new version of the old version? Sorry, I bought one a while back and they've since updated the tool and no longer support mine. But the new version might be useful!

Transmission taking too long to shift

Sorry, late to the party here. First, we have a ZF 6HP28 in these trucks, not the 26. For the most part, there are no differences, but it's the internals to the mechatronic that are slightly different. As for his issues, I agree with everyone above, change the fluid, and replace the...

    AC Condenser Replacement Part Quality?

Hmmm…granted I didn’t 100% check, but it thought it was soldered to the condenser. Maybe there’s a fitting there I didn’t see. If so, perhaps just the drier is in order then.
