HP fuel pumps are on the passenger side. So, if it’s louder on the driver’s side, not likely the fuel pumps. -

No oil will come out the snout. The only oil in the sc is in that little box under the drain plug. It’s the gearbox - isolated from the rest of the unit. Not much volume, and not much oil. Just a little in the bottom to bath the bottom of the gears. -

supercharger drain/fill plug is on topside at the back of the sc. i think the recommendation is to use a syringe to withraw what you can, then put back the same amount. -

Check your actual fuel trims using the gap tool. Run short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim and engine rpm. graph live values at idle, then hold it at about 1500 for maybe 20 seconds, then hold it at 2500 for maybe 20 seconds. take a look at the results and see if its running lean... -

I don’t think 3 quarts in 7500 miles is a ton. I remember my ride in high school would burn a quart every 1000-2000 miles, and it didn’t really smoke much or anything. On the LR4 though, I thought you might get an “add oil” message if you were down 3 quarts. I check the oil level periodically... -

I‘m thinking there is a tab on the bottom side that grabs a cleat (you pry away from the plug gently to release). I‘ll try to get out and look at mine in the next hour or so - see if I can get a pic with the borescope. -

That’s the correct way to get them off as I recall. I might have cheated with a pliers on a couple - can’t recall. Nothing special though. They are tougher than you’d expect to get off. -

I believe that’s a vacuum assist line. Try searching for a vacuum hose or the like. -

I don’t know about the rest of you, but that description of the fluids doesn’t really sound like the typical coolant leak situation. I suppose the reservoir could have failed, or a poorly bled coolant system could have caused the overheating and just boiled coolant out the reservoir. Still... -

Wow - does not sound good. Really sorry to hear about this. I agree with Joe77 - I can’t imagine the mechanics can’t locate the source of that kind of major leak. Only so many places the coolant can be coming from. The explanation you were given does not make a lot of sense to me...
