@hickersb maybe it depends on what type vehicle you were used to previously. I came from a 2.0l Sentra and a 5.3l 4x4 Silverado; the fist few times I drove the LR4 it felt fast and spunky...then after a month, not so much.
My inclination, just based on web searches and this forum, are that it...
Yea, probably so. I think the last time I saw it on sale was in December, but they may do other sales events. When it's on sale the pulley/tune run around $1,450 vs $1,940 regular price.
I'm still running the original snout/pulley/coupler. Will do the coupler/SC oil next time I have the lid off. May do the pulley too since it's pretty cheap and adds another 1.5 psi.
Interested in the tranny tune but haven't heard any feedback either. If you time it right, VAP will put the...
I've done a little more investigating and have come to the point where I don't think the pump upgrade will work for the '16 stumpy pump. The previous years pump had a 2 prong electrical connector, where the '16 has a 3 prong connector . At least at this point I'm not jumping at re-doing...
I can confidently say that my '16 has the stumpy pump. I can't get a good look or feel to it, but looking from the passenger side between the fan and accessory drive, it does look short. From above I can see that it only has 3 screw points joining the hat and body; the slimmer bosch style has 6...
I'm going to check mine when I get home to see what I have. The new P/N shows fitment for 2.0L, 3.0L, 5.0L(SV Autobiography Dynamic) gas and diesel models, so I can't say whether its a downgrade or not. Also, I'm not sure that size is indicative of flow rate; maybe @Fuji4 has more insight on...
After doing some more digging, i've found that the aux pump pre-MY15 is different than the '16 MY. P/N for '16 is LR095160 and looks like , but prior years P/N is PEB500010 and looks like (which is the Bosch upgrade that @Fuji4 alluded to)
I'll have to do a visual inspection to verify that my...
Yea, with the app I enter milage and gallons when I fill up. If you miss a fill-up entry, you check a box and it won't factor that in to the average mpg.
I would say assertive driving; not dogging it but not out for a Sunday cruise. Highway speeds are usually 80-84
Only other mod is K&N replacement filters.
Do we have the ability to adjust transmission parameters? Like shift points, line pressure, shift speed; anything like that?
Velocity AP has a tune for the ZF8HP70 transmission, but I would think we can make some adjustments without a special tune
Just wanted to throw out an update for reference; after having the pulley and tune for 8k miles now, I'm averaging 16.12 mpg with mostly city driving on 31 fill-ups.
Drove through the dealership last night and saw this. Not sure if that price is reflective of the current "car shortage" or the LR4 becoming more sought after for it's boxy styling. $39k for 100k mi is more than we paid 2 years ago for half the milage...
Also wanted to note that at 67.7k miles, there was almost no visible clutch particles or debris in the pan. I have 0 confidence that the PO changed the fluid prior, so that was a good sign to me.
I'm not sure they are interchangeable. When I did mine I actually ordered the scv8 part in error; everything is the same except for an electrical connector that the SCV6 version has. Made me assume the the scv8 was a mechanical tstat and the SCV6 was electric. I'm sure it would throw some kind...
If it were me, I would believe it to be coolant and most likely from the rear crossover pipe. That's a long way to travel for power steering fluid without seeing it dripping from anywhere else.
