    Brave dude. Very brave. I’m putting a kit together which would be pressure sensor operated sounding a really annoying buzzer. If there’s enough take up I’ll make a batch. If not then it’s a one and done. any interest?

    I’m in the v6 so the parts may be a little different. But the small part you broke does come with the hose from the thermostat. I do however have the old little plastic piece that you broke. If you want it then pm me and I’ll get it out to you.

    What Fuji said, cheap out on something that doesn’t potentially grenade your engine. Never on coolant system or oil system parts or engine internals.

    Looking at the structure of the bottom of the sump pan you must be right, but it’s only just under the drain plug penetration. There’s not much meat on it down there to be otherwise. It’s a result for the easy way finally with a Land Rover.

    I’ll also add, that if you’re lifting the supercharger then change the oil as it’s much easier when it’s out. Mine had about 40% remaining after 67k and smelled terrible.

    Do you know if the drain from the ac evaporator is clear? If this is backing up you can get the musty smell.

    Your temps look similar to those on my Lr. I’m glad you point out the oil temp, most people forget about that, and the fact oil takes almost as much heat out of an engine as the coolant. I’m a 5k oil guy myself.

    No sweat. Just make sure that the terminations either end of the strap are not too corroded. If they are don’t be scared of removing it and cleaning things up with emery paper or wire wool before reinstalling. And make sure it’s nice and tight.
