For those who have other things to worry about other than crossover pipe failure/catastrophic overheating

Yeah Stuart i know. When i hear about guys losing their engines over this, i really do feel like crap myself. Russian roulette sucks.

For those who have other things to worry about other than crossover pipe failure/catastrophic overheating

I had a catastrophic coolant loss with my front crossover pipe failing at 98k miles. The water pump was busted as well as coolant was coming through the weep holes. I knew about the issue for the crossovers since around 50k, but never got to replacement beforehand. Anyways back to the failure...

2012 LR4 - Need Help With Valve Cover Gasket Bolt / Oil Leak! **White Smoke From Engine Under Hood - Not Overheating**

Hmm i did an oil change once and apparently the cheap off brand filter from Korea i used that one time didn’t “snap” into the oil filter cover. When i tightened it down apparently it didn’t seat properly. That caused a leak that i didn’t catch for a few weeks until it started leaking down onto...

very sudden loud clicking and fan noise... is my rover near death?

Hey dude lol we need more info to go on! Open up the hood. Start it up briefly. Take a vid and try and figure out what it is…if its the fan area or coming from the actual engine block.

Emission inspections and start/stop battery disabled

Yep...my LR4 has no lights on at all, but a further scan shows a plethora of codes from the BCM. I have most coming from all the LED bulbs i installed in the interior. I also have a few for other modules that work perfectly fine. If for some reason your heated seats for example detect a low...

    Upper Trunk Won’t Open

So i just dealt with this issue as well couple months ago. Crawl in the back and get a flat tool such as a bread knife. You'll need to wedge a couple (2) knives in there at the same time and press down on both to get that carpet trim down so it can clear the black hard plastic trim. It takes a...

    WTB - LR4 OEM 19" Wheels

I have that exact rim. 4 for sale. They’ve been powder coated a year ago but the shop didn’t cure it properly and its cracking. From far is looks good. Up close not so much. I paid $350 to do the 4 rims. Average cost is $500 so i got what i paid for. The actual rim has no dents or chips and...

    STJLR.51.5122

don't think it matters. Legally you could do your own oil changes and with any oil you use once you have proof the changes were done on time and filled with the appropriate level oil. I've yet to hear a case where JLR voids the warranty on someone for doing their own oil with their own choice of...

    STJLR.51.5122

All bullshit lol use whatever 5w20 or 0w20 for the SCV6 you'd like. Amsoil is top tier stuff IMHO, but i do my oil changes every 3-5k miles so i just use Pennzoil. If you do your changes regularly like 5k/6months then any benefit from amsoil vs lets say mobil 1 is null lol. People may argue it...

2012 LR4 with front left locking caliper

Did you change caliper pins? Recheck and lube em up and replace it if you re-used them with the new caliper. It sounds like a caliper pin/master cylinder issue, either or.

2012 LR4 with front left locking caliper

Bro i had the same issue when my truck had 41k miles. CPO warranty first covered new calipers. Still didn’t fix it. It ended up being the master cylinder according to my receipts i just dug up. I didn’t question it, but i’ve always wondered why it only affected that caliper if the master...

19 inch rims OEM Set of 4 rims

These rims were powder coated back in 2018. The shop did a horrible job. The paint did not cure and the powercoat has been chipping. The actual rims have 0% damage. No chips or bends and is 100% round and not bent out of shape. Cosmetically is where they lack. Its perfect for someone wanting to...

    Air strut gone bad?

Pretty sure it’ll solve your issue, but if not it’s a cheap and recommended fix anyways as these valve blocks will certainly go bad in the future.

    Air strut gone bad?

open up the front passenger plastic fender wheel lining to gain access to the front valve block. Spray it down with soap water and check for leaks when its raising. I know you did work on the rear, but it could be a coincidence that your front valve block was on its way out and the repeated...

    LR 5.0 vs Jag 5.0?

hmm in theory it sounds like a good idea and one I'd explore myself if/when I'm in in your position. How many miles on the jag engine and the lr one for $6500?
  23. jlach993

    LR 5.0 vs Jag 5.0?

LR block is water "resistant" apparently...not the block itself but the accessories like water pump, ac compressor, alternator etc, but shouldn't matter if you don't wade. Also the oil sump is different on the LR block in that it can supply oil to the engine when at crazy angles during...

BG EPR 109 and BG MOA 115

Hey Parker, Although those products in my opinion are pretty great, I think you're way ahead of the game with your 5k oil change intervals and any gain you'd get from using those products are very very minimal. I'd save my money towards the next 5k oil change. Did you own the truck from new?

Thinking of moving on from LR4...

I have no logical reasoning for you, but i think you should keep it. Once repairs get larger and out of hand then i'd maybe flirt with letting it go? Once its not a transmission or the engine skips a tooth...i'd keep it! 15-20 years down the line these vehicles will be hot!
