I cleared the codes last night and went on a 400 mile roundtrip today from NYC to Delaware. I'm pretty sure i did a few drive cycles and the systems should be "ready". I checked for codes a moment ago and all clear. Please wish me luck lol.
I had a code for the downstream o2 sensor failure on the passenger side and the passenger side cat failure code as well. I poured cataclean in and after driving 150 miles the light came off. I'm not usually one to fall for those snake oil miracles in a can gimmicks, but i figured $23.99 is a...
Yeah you’re right about the o2 sensor and cat related codes. The others i narrowed down to a failing MAP sensor and the charcoal canister in the EVAP system. It’s kind of weird that all of these things are occurring at the same time. The MAP sensor failure i guess kind of correlates with the o2...
Hey all,
My LR4 has 95000 miles and it doesn't have the check engine light on, however upon connecting my scan tool from RSW, it pulled a few codes from the engine. Does anyone have some insight on these codes? I did a general search on google and it appears it could be anything from an exhaust...
I want to upgrade the door speakers on my rig. It’s a 2011 with the base harmon kardon system. Can someone recommend some speakers they’ve used? Also i’d like to add a line output converter from the stock amp to an aftermarket amp to power those speakers. How would you go about installing this...
Guys...discount fuel and “top tier” fuels are the same shit lol. Just marketing gimmicks. They all must have the same detergents in them legally mandated by the government. 93 Octane is of importance with regards to our trucks however. Even if you guys DID want to argue that shell or mobil has...
I second that. Take it to another shop and get another estimate. If not, get yourself a used Honda for $500 to get around and do the work yourself if you’re mechanically inclined at whatever pace fits into your busy life. If you do the work i’m sure it won’t ever happen again as what happened to...
I tried once only because the stock camera image was too shitty for 2020. I couldn’t get it wired to the headunit. The fiber optics behind the headunit is too complex for an average guy to figure out. I narrowed down the wire for the back up camera and spliced into it and the aftermarket camera...
I thirdly agree it’s the tires. I got cooper zeons that shook the steering wheel like a mf’er between 40-70mph. I took it to a shady shop to get them balanced and it helped a little. I figured something else was worn like the swaybar or control arm bushings. It’s not until i was washing the...
Yeah the strut itself is OEM, but the airbag is firestone. I entered the part number on the airbag and did extensive research online and found no indication of Firestone ever making any airbags that fit any Land rover...it’s so weird.
I had my passenger front air strut replaced at the dealer about 6 years ago. I always thought it was an OEM air strut until i diagnosed it the other day and found out that it’s a firestone air strut? Since when does firestone make air struts for our trucks? I did some research online and they...
Well that would work as well, but i’d still prefer the 0W-30 since the 0W would flow better during a cold start when most wear happens. 0W-30 and 5W-30 should be the same viscosity when engine is up to temp. I’m not 100% sure so please correct me if i’m wrong....
Hey everyone,
I have a 2011MY with 93k miles that’s running pretty well. I do a lot of vigorous driving and almost always carry a full truck with 7 adults. I do some light towing as well. I live in NYC where temps go as low as 15 degrees and as high as 95-100 in the summer months. I’ve been...
I recall going up an incline where my foot was almost down to the floor on the gas. The engine raced up and the tranny downshifted and it gained speed so slowly. It was horrible. I felt bad for the engine with that amount of weight LOL.

Drove the V6 and it was severely underpowered and sounded horrible in my opinion. I was thinking about upgrading to a 2016 a few years back. I have a 2011 V8 and i’m so lucky to have one. It’s the preferred engine to have for these trucks. Solid and reliable once those above mentioned services...
