    Rasta Swing Away Tire Carrier...Thoughts?

Drill through bumper for the Rasta. Someone (hint, hint) recently hinted to me that an established manufacturer may be coming out with one soon. I'm working on a design as we speak. I've sourced the hinge and clamp and am working out the tube details. Don't hold your breath though. More than...

    Any Thoughts? removable winch mount

Definitely install a proper winch. Warn has had the receiver winch for a number of years now. 9.5k is now available as the previous offering was only a 4k or 6k. Side pulls are the main issue. Every time I'm stuck, it's in a precarious, side-pull condition. Not too often will there be a nice...

Gas mileage: report your real world numbers

I found that driving in Command Shift mode also increases fuel economy. You'll be surprised how often your transmission is in 5th gear for most hwy driving if you leave it in D. Use command and 6th gear and you may see a 1.5-2mpg gain. I've noticed about a 300rpm drop when doing this. Passing is...

    Cmgrover- Off Road

cmg - you're a j-rod guy, right? If so, did you get your sensors recalibrated? I found that running the rod set at too short a length will wreak havoc with the system. That's exactly why I found 2-1/2" lift to be too much. I didn't stumble on my settings by accident nor did I set out to claim...

    Brush Guard vs. Deer

Anything short of the ARB will just cause more damage in an impact situation. All of the "brushguard" style seem to only bolt on underneath the front facia and cantilever out and up "protecting" the grill, head lights, front of fenders and hood. It will just fold into the body causing more...

    Anybody Order From Lucky8llc.com

Very solid guy and very solid company. He's very involved in the Rover community, not just some dude who's here to make a buck. I've been selling my adjustable rods through him for over a year now. Highly recommended company.

    Rant!!!

No one's asking you to leave CMG. Just the fact of seeing you logged in tells me that you don't want to go. By design, internet forums are technical based. This is an incredible source to gather information. I think the general vibe of the posters is to keep things more professional. We like to...

    Spring spacers and LR3's

All apologies Ryan. Question was specifically aimed at CMG. Seemed like an oversimplified and unqualified statement by the OP.

    Spring spacers and LR3's

Are these the Toddco spacers? Can you please provide detailed shots of the spacer as it sits in position? What has the spacer manufacturer said? Sorry for all the hassle on the fail. Shoot me a PM - maybe we can work up some sort of deal on a deep discount adjustable set. I dig the fact that you...

    Trip Report/Failure

Ryan - there's more going on here than a simple rub issue. There's plenty of room between the arm and canister. These are both fixed points and the tire only rotates AROUND the knuckle and will not be allowed to move closer to the canister, unless something else is going on. I would have a close...

    Trip Report/Failure

Duuuuuuuuuuude! Something looks wrong. Almost like the upper shock mount is tilted inward towards the a-arm. I'm headed down to the garage tonight to do some snazzy laser measuring on some of the suspension components. I'll definitely look around this zone and post up if anything looks odd. I'll...

What did you do to your LR3 today?

Ordered another GY DuraTrac after puncturing the sidewall while exploring Kavanaugh Ridge. Sketchy trail fix. Steep, off-camber tire change. Ewwww.

    System Fault HDC/Suspension question...

I'd lean towards a corroded connection related to your height sensors. The roll-over icon tips me off to this. If the Dealer has ever serviced the sensors and addressed a "patch" TSB for the sensors, odds are that the patch is not weather tight. Rear sensors seem to be the focus of the TSB. Your...

    Mod/question

Ditch the shackle and receiver set up for recovery work. Personally, I'd only attach to you via the intended connection point behind the panel. Recheck your exhaust hanger points as these are very difficult to physically damage. If they're OK, don't worry about it.

What did you do to your LR3 today?

I dropped in a K&N filter finally. I know, people bag on them all the time for Rovers. I just think very few actually know how to properly oil these things. I have used K&N for every vehicle that I have owned in the past and have NEVER had a MAF issue. Over oiling is the number one cause of...

cooper tires and crappy gas milage

Based on tires sizes 255/60 and 285/60 with an average of 17.5mpg's, you get a 4.7% difference netting you an estimated loss of .786mpg. Add .500mpg rolling resistance (guess) and expect close to 1.286mpg (16.2mpg) loss at an unadjusted speedo reading. Remember, this is not "true" mpg loss. For...

    Lr2 (3 Questions)

Welcome to Rovers Warren! 1. Sales 101. If you ever feel pressured into a contractual agreement - run. This type of agreement serves only one person - the salesman. Am I to believe that LR willingly uses a tire manufacturer that they feel is unsafe or inferior? I think not. You already have a...
