Thanks guys! Looks like I need new LAND ROVER decals for the hood in that close up!
The bottom clips were fine on mine. Not as robust as the top ones but seemed adequate to me.
You've got mad skills with Photoshop I see! Thanks!
I've only ever used Plasti-dip for tool handles in the dip can form. Takes forever to dry and requires multiple thin coats. Have you used the spray can form for this type of application? I know they sell paint that will stick to plastic...
Perhaps the speaker is just loose. Many LR3 owners have had this experience, including myself. Can't find the post but someone will chime in here I'm sure. Basically I've read you remove the doorpanel and either melt the fasteners back around the speaker mounting holes or just epoxy/hotglue...
Good advice. All Land Rover models/years have an achilles heel of some kind. I own as part of my fleet a first year 99.5 DII myself and had to do a complete valve job and headgasket at 46K miles. I fit most into your last category so I'm just biased to the brand I guess. I've loved these...
I change oil, diff oil, transfer case oil so often (every 2500 miles in some cases) that sythetic is a waste due to water intrusion and hard offroad miles. Daily driver LR3 is a different story - all synthetics.
$8500 is a little steep for an 02. $6500 or less would be prefered. I'd look for a nice 04 for $11K-$12K if you can swing it. Have an indy shop check it out. These trucks are prone to slipped liners, head gasket replacements and valve jobs so if one of these hasn't yet been completed it will...
Dealer drilled out my core and replaced under warranty. Did it for free but I'd expect it to cost about $150 with new core/keys if you had to pay for it.
I just bought one of these grills too (and two black badges) thinking I would separate myself from the masses like Jason. Looks like he's instead started a Seattle trend. Erek when are you ordering yours? :)
I coat the whole truck in spray silicone every two-three months - get's 95% of the creaks and rattles, especially the tailgate. Use it liberally and wipe off excess. Makes those black plastic parts shiney too. Thanks to this forum for this solution.
