    Land Rover Tailgate Noise

Well addressing the Audi side - the LR3 is a bank vault. Extremely quiet compared to the A3, A4 and A6 in my past

LR3 Rims and Tire setup- but I tow a boat often

solutions: - buy a second set of OEM rims and resell when complete, or just borrow from someone for a couple days. - Scuff and shoot the paint with the tires still on

    LR3 13k Recovery Possible?

Bbyer, I respect your opinion. In looking at the video you posted, pause it at 11 seconds and you will see a very steep angle on the tow rope. I would suggest that they are using the tow hitch, but it is very hard to tell. Here is how I came to my opinion: 1. The recovery loop is not...

    NITTO Terra Grappler 265/70/R18?????

You'll probably need a lift to clear the front body mounts. My 265/65's at stock height just barely kiss the mounts when a bump is hit while turning. Any more and it would be a problem. I also just barely kiss the bumps in the rear tire well, You'll need to pound those down as well.

    LR3 13k Recovery Possible?

I would get the factory tow bar and use a recovery shackle that fits the receiver to chain to. The factory tow hook is strong, but I'm not sure if it is that strong But flat towing isn't going to be 13k lbs. Sure it may weight that much, but you arn't dragging it. The wheels will roll...

Bolt on swing away tire mount done

How easy would it be to remove? Maybe just the arm and leave the mount behind the bumper? It would kinda suck to have to pull the bumper cover each time. Reason: Due to the way I have to park in the garage - the back is too tight to be able to swing the tire fully open to access the rear...

    Bluetooth mic

Yes bbyer, the LR4 upgrade is only for the factory installed 2121 coded bluetooth. It seems there is no upgrade available for the dealer installed kit

    Bluetooth mic

I have changed out the bluetooth module with one from an LR4 - it isn't a direct swap as the connectors are different, but only 2 wires are needed. Look on disco3.co.uk for more info. Many have said that the LR4 module helps with the microphone quality issues - but honestly I am not sure if...

Changed my diff oil - possible rebuilt front diff?

Front diff was just a little bit darker than new oil, It was very clear. Weird that someone has been in it - I thought LR just simply repaced the unit rather than breaking it open. The PO leased it, so I don't think it was ever taken to anything but the dealer. Transfer case was clear as...

How I got "real" mud flaps

Front: --------------------------------------- I haven't seen anyone do a really good job on the fronts. I decided to give the Range Rover Classic's a try and see if I can make them work. Just like the rears, a cut is needed on the inside to go around the body mount. Again since the cut is...

How I got "real" mud flaps

After seeing a 20ft spray coming off the back of my tires I decided to put on some mudflaps. The OEM flaps are less than ideal, I wanted to get some nice and big rubber ones. Here is what I did. Parts: --------------------------------------- Front: RRC mud flaps. Purchased from Rovers...

Changed my diff oil - possible rebuilt front diff?

I just replaced the oil in the front diff, rear locking diff and transfer case. Car has just over 30k miles. A couple odd things. 1) the amount of oil in the rear locking diff is supposed to be 1.1 qts. I took out and measured 1600 ml or ~1.7qt. So I put back in 1.7 qt. I do know the owner...

Looks good. Now it's time for some 18's and proper tires You'll be very happy with the decision of the LR3 vs the D2.
