Help on a possible problematic LR3 purchase.
Most of that stuff is normal quirky stuff. The alignments are probably due the crappy good-for-years on it. But the compressor thing I would definately check into. Anything fixed once maybe ok, fixed four times look out! -

Boaz, they also said that they will be out with a gas tank skid and lift options for the LR3. I'm not holding my breath on these items so the rod mod will have to do until then. I am also interested in what the underside of that slider looks like. -

Yep, I saw that new MT/R and it looks cool. Duratrac was the other and it looks better for the road but I think it is only 2-ply on the sidewalls. Maybe I'll wait a little bit longer, it seems like they are coming out with new tire to fit our rigs every couple of months. Thanks for the info... -

I run Toyo Open Countrys 285/60-18. Full size spare fits underneath fully inflated. You do have to get under the truck and give it a shove or two. -

Got my hands on a set today. I just said F*#k it and went to the dealer. Got them for $125.00 and have dropped them off in capable hands for modification and duplication. Houm, my wire bundles were torn up pretty good with my moderately aggresive Open Countrys. I can only imagine what those MTR's would do. Speaking of your MTR's could you give us a follow up on how those are working out for you? Maybe on one of the tire threads? Thanks DD -

Yep, just like Mr. Woods said. I had to do the plate thing because I did not have much slack in the lines. But if you do, it's easier to just tie them up out of the way. Good luck. -

This is my 06. I believe these wires are for the height sensors (upper set of wires). I almost rubbed mine out a couple of trails ago. I'm lucky to have a skilled friend who bolted this plate on for me. It will protect the wires no matter what size tires I'm running. I would hate to break... -

Having not run the Coopers I couldn't tell you how far you should air them down. I can tell you that I run Toyo Open Country A/Ts 285/60-18 and my spare fit under the truck just fine. It required a little bit of shoving here and there, but I made it work. One down side to pushing a tire that... -

Ryan, a swing out tire carrier is a good option. I really like mine. But if you don't want to spend the $$ on one I would just air your spare down a little and just stuff it up underneath and get a portable air comppressor to air it up when you need it. I did this...
