Awesome first post!
It took my wife a few months to warm up to the LR3 - she's not a big fan of the size, but given that she was driving a Mini Cooper S when we bought it last year, I understand (heck, she though my BMW coupe was too big!). However, with a 2 month old and a 2 year old, she...
Actually, there are definitely magnetic screens available for just this purpose. I don't have a link handy, but they can be found with a google search!
You guys are obviously fairly closed minded! ;-) This IS the family. Lesbian wives (or whatever the appropriate term might be) with 3 kids; everything fits into the CX9 (barely).
I use the cheaper Allen 740RR swing away; it's about $150 on ebay, or cheaper if you find someone clearing 'em out. The price and swing away design is obviously the big advantage, but it's a pretty heavy beast (~50lbs) and there has been some comment on the internet about the design being...
I believe there are also a few posts around indicating that you are NOT supposed to use an anti-sway with the LR3 - it apparently interferes with the truck's built-in software that is supposed to accomplish the same thing.
That sounds like awesome mileage! Based on my back of the napkin calculation I could hit those numbers at around 55 or 60 MPH, but not at 75 MPH, though I'm not sure how linear the mileage slip is.... Typically I'm an 85-90mph highway traveller and I'm closer to 18/19 MPG...
I did catch...
Might want to check the bushings thread a few posts down as well - haven't noticed in my LR3, but definitely had a shake during high speed braking /w my BMW that was taken care of when replacing the bushings....
I'm not sure if the LR3s trick suspension changes things, but can you not just raise one side of the vehicle and do the "wiggle" test? Ie, with one side jacked, try wiggling the wheel left & right - play means your bushings are shot - wiggling top to bottom is generally tie rods...
I just...
Almost tempting to sell sometimes (occasionally wish I had spec'd an HSE). For what it's worth, ours was bought at auction for $16.5k + fees in the early fall of '08 - a 2006 V8SE7 with most options and 34k miles on the odo. By the time it reached me in Canada it was close to 25k CAD taxes in...
From reading the UK disco3 forum, I believe you may wind up loosing a few dash features since they are controlled through the head unit. There's also a great post there by a user by the name of BBSSPY who stripped his base spec LR3 completely and upgraded it to pretty much HSE spec. In the UK...
Hey - please stick around; good to have the continuity when Mrs. MustBeAudi realizes the error of her ways. My wife was uncertain about the LR3 when we picked it up last year, but since she still had her Mini to drive she was mollified. We sold the Mini a couple of weeks ago and so far she...
From your prior posts, it seems like many of the issues that have plagued you (and it sounds like you have had more then your fair share!), have caused some significant distress. If I were you, I'd probably sell it to relieve the stress of worrying about it. I've been there, and have bailed...
If you happen to come across that part number, please post it - I'm interested for later this summer. For the front doors, note my post above - the speaker cutouts for the hi-line stereo are etched on the back of the door - apparently a fairly easy DIY addition (obviously amplying, etc, etc...
The obvious extras are the "upper" speakers in the front doors (look at the back door, and you'll see the speakers there), and speakers in the D pillars that fire forward for the third row passengers. There's one other speaker as well, which I believe may be an additional sub (the SE level has...
That's good, because he loves his 2 year old Aston Martin as well and should be ready to share the news...

In case you check out the 06's, the memory package is also available in 06 on the SE - we have it on ours. Third row was standard in 07/08, but not 05/06, as I recall. In the US, it seemed that 2nd row temp controls almost always coincided with third row seating, so I became fairly adept at...
LR3_Virgin - I find the best solution to be the rubber mats. I actually cut my own third row out of a mat bought from a local generic automotive retailer (Canadian specific retailer). It was a replacement mat for a pickup truck that covers the center channel - well large enough for the LR3...
Oh, that might have just crossed the line....
For centerfield - they may be that worn, depending on driving style, but I find the measurements sometimes a little "off"... ie, a friend of mine had his VW in for servicing about a year ago and the advisor mentioned he had 10% left...
We all aim to please!
I actually have a friend who's been drooling over our LR3 since I picked it up; I'll pass along your link, though it's a bit of a long shot importing it to Canada with the current US/CAN dollar value right now.
In any event good luck with the sale - your presence on...
I use a bunch of these for the bikes:
Amazon.com: Racor PBH-1R Ceiling-Mounted Bike Lift: Home Improvement
The Racor mounts I found locally for $10 per set, which was perfect, and I wish I had bought a dozen when I had the chance (since then, I haven't been able to find them locally). The...
This just opens up all sorts of great possibilities; our LR3 is seldom clean enough... I don't think my wife ever reads this forum...
(I'm assuming you meant "winches")
Same on my '06 - I was surprised, since even my aging BMW has retained power for the seats. Does anyone know if the LR3's seat memory feature is tied to the unlocking of the vehicle, or is it only activated once you put the key in the ignition? (Will test this later when I have a few spare...
