It goes through a power on self test right when the power is turned on. Also one when you turn the engin off. Probably wouldn't hear it unless you are listening for it and not starting the car right away. -

After thinking about it overnight, I think I recall it was just one extra step after you do the noremal proceedure, I had to push a button on the actual door opener motor to activate it. I recall finding that in the genie manuel. -

if it doesn't open when you hold both dash buttons down and you hear it clicking it will not open with the remote programmed either. instructions are in the manuel but I think you are wasting your time you need to follow the instructions posted. -

What year is the car? My first thought is a sensor, the sensor arm action does start to get a little stiff over the years and could make the car think it is not going down fast enough. -

Reading mine with the faultmate, my gallery pressure stays at 257 after the comp turns off. Mine has always dumped some air out the exaust when lowering and the comp has usually turned on for a few seconds when after the dump. -

My pressure stays at 257ish in the resevoir after the comp turns off (reading with the faultmate). So by your description it sounded like the resevoir was releasing the air after the comp stopped. Maybe your tool is reading a different sensor other than the resevoir pressure. If the pressure... -

Sway bar disconnects
I agree if you did have a limiting strap that would help. I know the swaybars are not the limiter but they do help decrease the amount of hard downward pressure on the shock limiter which some of us have damaged when the swaybar link has been broken or damaged. -

I don't think you want to do that on the LR3. The swaybar helps keep the travel from going to far. If you travel any further then the current max the upper control arm will get really close to the shock if not start to contact it. -
