    2008 LR3 HDC,special programs faults-rear differential motor

I agree, hard to say without a better idea of the sound, like it is running and running instead of the 1 - 2 second power up self test. The usual fault I have seen when the rear locker is acting up is a reduced traction message. The 3k price plus labor sounds like a complete diff...

    2008 LR3 HDC,special programs faults-rear differential motor

It goes through a power on self test right when the power is turned on. Also one when you turn the engin off. Probably wouldn't hear it unless you are listening for it and not starting the car right away.

    programming garage door opener

After thinking about it overnight, I think I recall it was just one extra step after you do the noremal proceedure, I had to push a button on the actual door opener motor to activate it. I recall finding that in the genie manuel.

    programming garage door opener

There is a special proceedure for the genie, I went through the same thing. I do not remember off the top of my head from over a year ago but I found the answers in the genie manuel.

    Airbag SRS indicator light on

Probably the clockspring (rotary coupler) in the sterring wheel. They do go bad causing the airbag light to go on. Other symptoms sometimes appear such as cruise control/radio buttons acting funny as well. Part is about $300 through online sources. I think I heard the dealer charges around...

    2006 LR3 V8, 118k miles, hatch issues

if it doesn't open when you hold both dash buttons down and you hear it clicking it will not open with the remote programmed either. instructions are in the manuel but I think you are wasting your time you need to follow the instructions posted.

    Parking Break

Actually many have had this happen and it turned out that only an adjustment was needed. Manuel says it needs to be adjusted every rotor change and at least every 50k miles. Mine seazed up and I had to use the emergency release. You ,might try that first. Current online prices for the...

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

the rear hatch is probably a broken cable. There are lots of posts about it here you can search to get it open. Sometimes needs a new latch sometimes it is repairable. not really hard to fix it. The brake actuator can be done for much less then $1400. The part is usually $500-$600...

Suspension goes into Extended mode when lowering.

My 06 has always been fairly even on the lowering although maybe a little faster in the front due to the weight. I had a buddy have a shock go bad in the back and it would stick and not want to go down easy causing extended mode. My 06 sensors all were getting pretty stiff causing slow...

Suspension goes into Extended mode when lowering.

What year is the car? My first thought is a sensor, the sensor arm action does start to get a little stiff over the years and could make the car think it is not going down fast enough.

    best "touch-up" paint for scratch?

this is the part number for that color: VPLDC0001PAB Santorini Black $15 from rover parts west. Also these guys carry some good paint, I used their paint for wheel touch up and it was spot on...

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

When you do, my suggestion is start the car in regular height fairly cold so the compressor temp is low. Both drop to access that should kick the compressor on to get the gallery full pressure. Wait a couple minutes for the comp temp to go down again, then both go all the way up to offroad and...

    Child safety seat locations?

As others did, if only one seat go to the center. I had to have 3 in at once so I had to have the passenger seat and the driver seat pretty far forward to carry the triplets. I was really glad to be able to turn the seats around upright when they got big enough.

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

I stand corrected, went back and monitored mine. It does bleed off but really really slow, probably why I never noticed it. After about 5 minutes I then also got the slight exaust release Houm mentioned dropping the gallery down to to a much lower PSI. Probably never noticed that either since...

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

Reading mine with the faultmate, my gallery pressure stays at 257 after the comp turns off. Mine has always dumped some air out the exaust when lowering and the comp has usually turned on for a few seconds when after the dump.

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

My pressure stays at 257ish in the resevoir after the comp turns off (reading with the faultmate). So by your description it sounded like the resevoir was releasing the air after the comp stopped. Maybe your tool is reading a different sensor other than the resevoir pressure. If the pressure...

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

That to me sounds like the resevoir valve block may be having an issue.

    "Vehicle Raising Slowly"

It is interesting that both trucks have the same issue. The only time I have seen that message was when either the compressor was hot, the resevoir was depleted, or the compressor was not working right and not repleneshing the resevoir fast enough. If you have a faultmate you can monitor...

Shock and upper control arm contact

Finally had a chance to replace the bad shock. First obervation when I started to test the new is that it was definately not traveling as far as the bad one. At full extension there was quite a bit of room between the shock and the upper control arm. I also changed the upper control as I...

    Sway bar disconnects

I agree if you did have a limiting strap that would help. I know the swaybars are not the limiter but they do help decrease the amount of hard downward pressure on the shock limiter which some of us have damaged when the swaybar link has been broken or damaged.

    Fan Clutch Not Working Properly

I would not say it is a regular common problem but I have heard of a few needing to be replaced. If I understand things right, the fan clutch does engage when the engine is cold to help warm up by putting resistance on the engine. It is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM) that...

    Sway bar disconnects

I don't think you want to do that on the LR3. The swaybar helps keep the travel from going to far. If you travel any further then the current max the upper control arm will get really close to the shock if not start to contact it.

    Suspension raising slowly message

Also true, but I have seen the raising slowly message combined with the compressor is hot message.

    Suspension raising slowly message

That is true but I have also seen it go to the bumps for the same code as well as others. Maybe it depends on the degree of out range reported.

    Suspension raising slowly message

Did you install spacers or shortened sensor rods or both? I see spacers on your sig. The only time I have seen that raising slow message is when the compressor was overheated or when there was a system fault like "sensor out of range" and the sytem went to the bumps. All I can think of is...
