Thanks for this. The issue I had was broader than just that top strap. The bottom hit, too, and I didn't see how I could make it work without modifying both the mount and the vehicle beyond what I was willing to try to "see if I can make it fit." So I'm sending it back unmodified. -

So Lucky 8 is now saying that Terrafirma is telling them the 1" cylindrical spacers in their kit are meant to help with this situation. I'm no engineer, but I see some problems: 1) the spacers are 1" thick, but the CAC protrudes out about 1.5" from the plane of mounting. Even crushing the CAC... -

I’m not even sure what the thing actually is. There’s a bleeder on the hose attached to its hard line on the driver’s side, and there’s coolant under the bleeder. So it almost seems like a second radiator. I'm betting it's plumbed into the heat exchanger in the intake manifold. But there isn’t... -

Not sure I follow what happened there, as Dylan22 there posted that he'd made the Terrafirma mount work. Not seeing how, unless you use spacers at the back, where sheer is going to be a real issue with any side loading. -

Sounds like it would be a simple splice if you don’t mind losing the aux in jack. If you do, you could rig a switch there to swap between the two sources. But yeah, this feels like a substantial oversight. -

Question for those of you who've done this install: Did you have a cooler in the way? I seem to have an extra cooler that sticks out into the same plane as the back of the winch mount wants to occupy. It's not attached with soft lines, so it wouldn't be trivial to relocate. -

Rotation of the crank produces a sine wave at the piston, not a triangle wave. So capturing TDC this way is likely to leave you off by some degrees because you're trying to discern movement at the flattest part of a sine wave. SWAG here, but why not? Aren't there two plugs that are easily mixed up when you do the coolant crossover work? Is it possible that they had to also disconnect those to do the valve cover work, and plugged them back in to the wrong parts of the loom? -
