    Relocating backup camera

I think the new camera has higher resolution than the old, but I haven't really tested it at night yet.

    Relocating backup camera

@avslash , which Kenwood model did you use? I'm looking for something without the parking guides anyway.

    Relocating backup camera

I did not take a photo of the screen, but I think the combination of the Tactical 4x4 tire mount and the 275/70R18 tires blocked a lot of my camera. Just yesterday, I installed a WickedHD WRC-117 ($12 at Amazon!) middle of the spare tire plate, peaking out through where the center cap should...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

Any tips on how to most easily/quickly remove and replace the crank pulley from those with the experience?

LR4 2016, the engine is dead!

Really sorry to hear this, but it sounds like you might be able to get a new engine out of them if you get a decent lawyer. It sounds like the service tech messed up some critical step in the process, or installed defective parts. Either way…

    ASFIR skid plate experiences?

Thank you sincerely, @rolledover . I think I've got it from here, but I'll let you know if I have issues.

    Rear Parking Sensor Alarm

Yes, in the sense that the camera still works with the alarms disabled.

    Relocating backup camera

Perfect! I was hoping someone might have done this. Do the curving parking guide lines work with the same camera? And does the Kenwood display come on automatically when in reverse?

    Hello from Long Island

Wait...are you saying the owner was charged over $2k, twice, to replace the PCV valves and the cabin air filter??

    Relocating backup camera

Interesting, @AdventureTim ! I did try that exact thing, temporarily, using gaffer tape. It didn't do enough good for me to make it worth doing permanently, as the spare still blocks everything I need to see on the passenger side of the vehicle even from that angle.

    Hello from Long Island

Disappointing that only the rear crossover seems to have been replaced, when they could have replaced all crossovers and the water pump. Even though the fuel sender was R&R'd, I assume it will be covered again under the new recall. Then there are these two: Correction: Repair Order: 32798...

2015 V6 coolant pipes done. Pics of old pipes

The fact that these seem to crumble right where the O-ring is sure has me wondering. Plastic should be OK for quite awhile, but apart from the seams in the originals occasionally rupturing, the failure point seems to be the base. Yes, the plastic is probably thinner there, but I wonder if...

    Relocating backup camera

Related question: I'd be happy to experiment, especially if I could find a 6-wire harness that worked. Does anyone know what the connector type is? There are 6 flat pins, all on one row, oval connector.

    Relocating backup camera

Has anyone successfully reloaded the camera from the rear door up to the top or something? Most of my view is now the backside of a spare tire. Looks like there are 6 wires to the camera, but I don’t have a wiring diagram. Two wires seem to go to a coax cable (makes sense), and two others...

    Spark Plug Gapping

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a scientific basis for the claim that a wider gap would give you more power or fuel economy. I suppose it’s possible. OTOH, I have seen cases where the gap being too wide caused problems like the spark finding a path through insulation, the coils being unhappy, and...

    Weird suspension fault

That's the coincidence that is making me wonder about your charging system. Could be fine, but in the absence of other data, that might be something to check. Note, too, that this is an oddball alternator as I understand it: PWM regulation instead of just voltage regulation. So I'm not sure...

    Weird suspension fault

Any idea whether the old battery died because it was old, or because your charging system might be iffy?

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

I'd love it if you could elaborate on this a bit. There's a big difference between using a winch to pull out your brother's ATV versus using one to get the LR4 up a steep, muddy hill with roots all over the place. I'm curious about how the duty cycle is on the winch, whether it would draw to...

Roof Rack Wind Noise Help !

In my opinion, yes. Otherwise you're just changing the nature of the turbulence under the roof rack, rather than directing it over. Here's a potentially easy experiment for you to try: get some gaffer tape (doesn't leave adhesive residue) and extend your current fairing down to the skin using...

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

Reviving this thread as I'm considering doing this same thing. But...I have zero experience with the Terrafirma winch or Superwinch, and I'm wondering if anyone has put this through it's paces? Is it capable enough with a low enough current draw? I'm tempted to try the Sherpa 17k winch, even...

Roof Rack Wind Noise Help !

I fabricated a faring for my Rhino rack out of lexan that works great. Big difference in design, though: mine extends all the way down to the skin, and I have an edge protector of some weatherstripping there. So it's tight against the actual roof. I don't think that design is anywhere near...

Thank you! I'll look through the mess and see if those mounting brackets are somewhere.

    ASFIR skid plate experiences?

So I bought these skid plates, and they do seem very well-made. But they don't come with instructions, for one thing. The first plate I tried installing is the one covering the suspension air tank. There are a pair of recessed holes in either end, but they don't seem to line up with anything on...

Very sorry for your issue, then.

Lost power, died, now won't crank. Any ideas?

Hmmm…you didn’t mention the empty coolant tank before, IIRC. Coolant doesn’t just disappear. Are you sure it was full before? Did you smell anything or see any puddles on the ground when you stopped? Can the engine be turned by hand?
